Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been left furious by his club level of discipline. This proved to be the case after Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey was red-carded in the club’s Carabao Cup semis against Liverpool.
Just a few days ago, the Ghanaian had just been eliminated with his national side in the African Cup of nations. Yet, he was immediately rushed by the Gunners to make a trip back to Europe in other not to miss this clash.

Mike Arteta's viewpoint:

In his post-match press conference, Mikel Arteta shared his thoughts on Arsenal's level of discipline throughout the game.
From his speech, the Spanish manager pointed that the Gunners have always been red-carded against big team’s in recent times. With the Granit Xhaka incident as a perfect example.
He insisted that it was a piece they were working on, and results would be made manifest sooner.

Mixed reactions by Arsenal supporters:

No doubt, over the last two seasons, Thomas Partey has proving himself to be arguably Arsenal's number one pick in midfield. More often than not, he gets the starting edge ahead of any other individual even Granit Xhaka.
Yet, a good number of fans believe their was no point rushing him after Ghana's exit from the AFCON tournament.

Summary:

The importance of Thomas Partey in the Arsenal lineup cannot be overemphasized. Little wonder he was rushed by the manager.
However, with things going nuts, it surely proves there is still a lot of work to be done within the Arsenal camp.

Red card and Arsenal on big games seem to be a romance that has been on for a long time. They need to maintain level heads and do better going forward. Martinelli also was the only one trying to get something for Arsenal against Liverpool. They need to improve in every area.

Really, it was disheartening.

They played very well before conceding that goal, but immediately they did, they became a shadow of themselves.

That's right. They also played so well in the first leg. I was hoping they would to one step further over Liverpool this time.

it was a risky move by Arteta and it is proven to be very wrong because of the red card.
But as the numbers of midfield is limited at Arsenal at the moment, I think Arteta has no other choice
