What makes us a better person?
To me, life is about becoming the better version of myself every day. I try to leave some of my anger, some of the regrets behind, I forgive and try to proceed forward. But the feeling of fulfillment sometimes seems missing inside.
So this question always poke my mind, what makes us a better person? What is the better version of someone?
The answer to the second question is easier. Like what we are, if we do a little better the next day, be kind, faithful, forgiving the next day; we can be a little better the next day for sure.
But what makes us better?
Being better to others as well as towards us.
This is what makes sense to me if you ask me that question.
There's no limit to being better. As there's a saying, in this world you can choose to be anyone so be kind.
Just like that. There are many options to be better as a person.
Remember, when was the last time you did something that made you feel guilty inside, made you unhappy, gave you a feeling like you could do better.
I can give an example.
A few days ago when I was paying my bill at a restaurant I put a certain amount of tip. That was the amount I usually tip. But this time the waiter was a teen boy, very generous. I would have given him more. But I was also thinking like, why so? Coz that will exit my tip limit. I was like paying math in my mind. Like it's not possible for me to give more every single time. So what should I do? After the mind argument with myself, I end up giving the same tip not more.
It made me feel bad afterward.
This is nothing much. Maybe I did what I was supposed to. But my mind didn't stop questioning my act. I'm in a guilty feeling.
I promised myself to not do this mind argument again rather choose more ethically. I believe I can do better, I can be a better person by giving more.
Also, the same applies to us. Being kind to ourselves, making ourselves a priority can make us a better person every single day.
I found my answer this way.
