Lunch at The H Hartamas
Before Christmas started end of last year of December, my husband suddenly felt like going to a shop called Xian Butcher to check out an item called pineapple glazed ham to decide whether would that be suitable for Christmas dinner. We headed to a place we seldom went and ended up at this place for lunch. It was a random findings, so we were totally clueless about the place and food.
The H Hartamas
Somehow, the name of the place sounded like a grand place with air-conditioning. Actually, it was an open-air concept, with big roof and many chairs and tables. We just wanted to have a quick lunch before we headed to Xian Butcher.
Location: 14, Jalan Sri Hartamas, Jalan 28/70a, Desa Sri Hartamas, 50480 Kuala Lumpur.
It was so huge but empty. I doubted for awhile whether should we eat here. But I also knew once husband had decided a place and wanted to just eat a simple fast lunch, so I did not say out any thoughts. We walked around to find out only few stalls were opened. Later, we found out most stalls would open at night, so The H Hartamas was apparently more happening at night. If I suddenly suggested to change place, I knew it would not create a nice atmosphere anymore, so let's made do with what stalls were opened.
Thank God for two stalls which were opened. Yayyy!! One was Burger-cum-Western stall. Another one was Nasi Lemak stall. And thank God they sold drinks too because we were thirsty.
The food we ordered
Both my husband and I were not that hungry, but the boys were, hence the decision earlier to choose whatever eateries nearby and got it done with. My oldest son ordered a Beef Burger with fries and husband ordered Mac and Cheese with Grilled Chicken to be shared with the youngest son. The burger and mac'n cheese were super delicious. Our sons kept thumbs-up. I was happy for them.
After awhile, I felt hungry too but I did not feel like eating any burger or cheesy creamy stuff. So I went to the Nasi Lemak stall and ordered Chinese Fried Rice with fried egg. I knew that was such a contradictory choice. How could one order Chinese fried rice from a nasi lemak stall? However, I felt like eating Chinese food.😂 It turned out that my chinese fried rice was so healthy that it was undertaste. When I commented a food was way undertaste means it was extremely undertaste, because usually I would compliment any food even that food was badly rated by people. Thankfully, the fried egg was delicious. My youngest son felt like eating it, so I gave it to him. I learned my lesson — to order a plate of 'nasi lemak' from Nasi Lemak stall. I still ate my food with thanksgiving, as usual, I did not usual choose my food. I was happy as long as there was food to eat. My father always gave a remark that selling food to me was the easiest because anything also delicious. The drinks from the Nasi Lemak stall were refreshing though. It was super hot weather, so the drinks were the saviour.
It was still a pleasant quick lunch because everyone was happy eating and drinking. And after we finished our lunch, the whole place was still very empty. Perhaps only 3 to 4 tables of customers. Oh well, we seldom frequented here, so we really did not know. After the lunch, we got all the energy to walk at Xian Butcher for some meat shopping. Before that, we visited the washrooms at The H Hartamas at another side and found out there was a car washing service available, not free of course. I was thinking, "Aiya, should have send my car to wash while we dine because that was in my things-to-do list." Too late. I kept quiet. Nevertheless, a family day liked this was precious to me.
