Since my husband did not get to join us for house celebration for Jansen's birthday, he tried his best to drive back from Negeri Sembilan to Kuala Lumpur after sending our friend, and reached on the dot at 7pm. We managed to have another celebration with the important person in our life, Jansen's father, 'le husband.🤭

Some throwback story, the moment when Jansen was out from the womb (I had natural birth), the Doctors and specialist did not bother to even show Jansen's face to me, he needed to be intubated straight away so that he would not die. My husband was the one who got to see Jansen being pushed out from the birth room but he was surrounded by 10 Doctors and he was already being intubated. Throughout the one month of my post-pregnancy recovery, husband was the one spent most time with Jansen at ICU, day in day out, night in night out, drove to and fro to ICU, sending breast milk to be kept, hoping one day soon, Jansen could take the milk. The father and the son had fond memories together during the trying times, in a way, my husband fought together with Jansen for his life, while I recovered at home for one whole week to regain strength.

Great to celebrate Jansen's into-the-9th-year!

Husband said he wanted to give us a treat for Jansen's birthday, so Jansen got to choose what he wanted to eat. The boys together in one heart said they wanted carbonara pasta!

We turned into a mall nearby us after picking our eldest son from his drumclass and husband decided on this restaurant. I guessed because Jansen loves blue colour?

Jamaica Blue

It is a restaurant born and bred in Australia, and growing globally till having one at Melawati Mall. It is named after the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, the restaurant promises us the freshjess, warmth and flavours of the Caribbean.

We really loved the setting and ambience — clean, cosy, warm, soothing. There is a special table where the chairs are swing-like, Jansen felt like dining there but unfortunately, the table was taken. We told him we would come back again for that experience. We sat right at the end, nice cosy tranquil corner. The smell of coffee was inviting.

A waiter immediately served us. Right after we placed our order, the waiter informed us that the carbonara from the restaurant was not the usual carbonara with creamy sauce, but it was cook with authentic way, using eggs and cheese as base, no milk or cream or whatsoever. He said he needed to inform upfront because some customers would complain that the carbonara was dry and sauceless.

Oh man, this authentic carbonara was the type we were looking for. So thrilled.

1. Traditional carbonara pasta

True enough, the pasta was so so delicious. One look at how the boys chomped down the pasta would definitely know how great the taste was. Loaded with lots of turkey too. The egg and cheese base, superb!! Not dry to us at all. Just the right carbonara pasta we were craving. My husband and I got to share because the portion was big!!!

2. All-day big breakfast

I did not feel like eating pasta, so I chose the all-day big breakfast set which came with scrambled eggs, toasted bread, sausages, turkey hams and grilled tomaotes. I wasn't feeling very hungry so I shared with my husband. I loved the dish.

3. Mac and cheese

Husband went to the counter and saw this special-today-menu. It was not on the daily menu so husband ordered to be shared. Wow! Delicious. The crispy cheese top and the macaroni was loaded with cheese. Perfect cooking!

4. Latte

Husband ordered our favourite coffee — latte. We shared one cup to avoid staying alert at midnight. Haha. Really smooth coffee and fragrant coffee beans. I loved it and even tempted to order another cup but I managed to resist. Wouldn't want to be tortured by inability to sleep.

Jansen ate to his gladness. So happy to see him able to eat without complications. We prayed and will be keep on praying for miracle to happen that one day his partial bowel obstruction will be resolved by itself. And that he can eat forever without any complications. He is definitely a foodie and love to try different types of food. He also said that he wish he can eat without any pain forever! May his wish comes true!

The night was still young, so husband said, "Let's have next stop for some drink and dessert." On next blog ya....
