The Government Is Not Only The Problem We Nigerians Are Our Problem

Good day hive Naija, it has been a while since I posted in the community because I have been exploring other parts of the blockchain but I am happy to share my content here once again. it's no news on the current cash issue going on in the country since the naira redesigns the CBN introduced on the 23rd of November, 2022.

The CBN had ordered all old 200, 500, and 1000 should be deposited in various banks since November last year and had given a deadline for everyone in the country to deposit their cash into the bank because once the deadline passed the old note wouldn't remain a legal tender anymore in the country.

The CBN has changed the deadline twice for the convenience of Nigerians so they can deposit all their old notes into the bank. The new note came with a catch as the CBN planned to implement the cashless policy they have been talking about for a while and order banks to pay only the sum of twenty thousand naira over the counter and ATMs across the country.

The new currency seems to be scarred and banks continue to circulate the old note going behind the CBN order. The new note was scarce but some wealthy people had the currency and took it to parties to be sprayed on themselves, this sparked a lot of controversies between Nigerians and the banks and before we knew it news came out that banks are selling the new notes to people who are interested in getting it for themselves.

Here I was blaming the CBN and governments for the new naira scarcity not knowing banks have the new note and are refusing to release it to the public, holding it back for their selfish interest and these bank owners and workers are fellow Nigerians not people in government, fellow Nigerians!!

The CBN decided to send teams from their headquarters to inspect banks and the cat was left out of the bag. The CBN teams discovered that some banks kept the new notes that were supposed to pay over the counter and dispense into ATMs, and some of the managers got arrested.

The sad truth is some Nigerians use every bit of chance to exploit people if they are in control of a particular commodity needed when it gets scared in the country, we have seen it with Petrol attendants who will ask for 500 or 1000 before they sell and tomorrow we will all complain about the government when it's our fellow common man causing more hardship on the country.

Nigeria has a bad government, yes and by the grace of God they will all be voted out in the coming election on Saturday, but if we want this country to work we have to stop exploiting ourselves and do the right thing. Thanks for your support and feel free to give your thoughts in the comment section, have a good day.

We like to blame our leaders for all our problems forgetting that they are just a small fraction of the whole country.

Until most of us, learn how to act in the best interest of all, changing Government will never be enough to solve our problems.

Exactly and it is showing clearly in this election campaign, some people still support the same government that has made our country a mess in the last 8 years, honestly I don't know if the people will ever change.

One truth is this, humans are wicked. Many who were poor yesterday are now the richest. A man told me today that his friend who is a banker said that he has hit UpTo 50 million naira this time within a space of a month. Nigerians are now buying our currency with our currency. May God have mercy upon us

Just imagine and I can bet that banker does not care about how people are suffering because of scarcity, so far he is getting rich he is less concerned.

I agree with you, many governments have lousy management, but most citizens follow in their footsteps by exploiting their peers. Change starts with ourselves, we can change a system of government, but if we do not change the way we think, we are doomed to failure.

I agree with you, if we don't change our mindset these politicians will continue to use poverty to get into the minds of people. Thanks for stopping by.
