Good day everyone welcome to my blog, yesterday the world went through a social media outage, we witness how Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram went off for a couple of hours.

Now, this got me thinking, our day-to-day life activities are affected by social media, it's not a bad thing though because these social media have helped us positively.

Most of the things going on around the world, I got to know through these media's, small businesses have been able to improve with the help of social media, I think everyone has their share of benefits.

Yesterday when these platforms I mentioned earlier stopped working, I kind of got scared. I first thought that the Nigerian government had finally gotten what it wanted. Since the ban on Twitter in Nigeria, there have been some rumours that the government is looking to stop other social media activities in the country.

I wondered how this will affect the country because Nigerians are very social people. We spend most of our time on these platforms. So not only will small businesses crumble, but it will also be bad for the economy.

According to Forbes the CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg lost over 6 billion dollars during the outage of his platform, that's quite a loss.

I think these platforms need to step their game up, they need to sort this kind of problem quickly as they come, to make sure we the consumers don't get disconnected and avoid getting huge losses.

Am glad they solve the issue and all the social media platforms are back and working fine and hope we don't have another outage again. That is all for now, be seeing you soon. Cheers.

Ah so now the sudden up-tick in Hive price makes sense.

i guess with time you will understand the value of decentralized social platforms like hive. Unlike Facebook and the likes, hive cannot suffer from one-point attacks which might be the reason for the Facebook outage. Plus, I don not think any company should have that much power and would like to see people shift from centralized social platforms like Facebook to hive.

Nice piece. You should write and engage more. This is probably an opportunity of a lifetime for you. There is a limited to what I can help you with. The ball is in your court.
