Morocco Are Through To The Quarter Finals After Beating Spain In A Penalty Shootout

Last night was one roller coaster ride in the FIFA world cup. I have said since the second week of the competition that any team that underestimates their opponent will suffer a defeat and that is what happened to Spain last night. Who would have thought the Spanish giant would lose to African side Morocco last night by penalties?

It was a big shock for me because I know the quality the Spanish team has in the squad, and most of these Spanish players play for big clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, and Atletico Madrid, who are top clubs in their leagues.

Spain dominated the match against Morocco last night, they had the highest ball possession and more chances created but had fewer shots on goal than Morocco and I have to hand it to Morocco's defense they were top-notch in stopping dangerous attacks and clearing the ball from the box when it was necessary.

It was a beautiful performance for the lions of Africa Morocco has also been an impressive team in the world cup, they played a draw with 2018 world cup runner-up Croatia and beat the second-highest-ranked team in the world cup Belgium two goals to nothing in the group stage and top the group and last night they managed to send Spain home.

Spain and Morocco played a goalless 90 minutes plus extra time and both teams had to play penalties so a win can be produced in the match The Moroccan goalkeeper Bono was the hero of the night for Morocco, he denied two Spain penalties which helped to secure a victory for his team, his teammates threw him up in the air at the end of the penalty shoot praising him for the team success as they progress to the quarterfinals.

Morocco will face Portugal in the quarterfinals this weekend, a well-deserved victory for Morocco and I look forward to their match this weekend. We are slowly approaching the end of the world cup. It has been an amazing tournament and I am glad to witness it on my TV😂. So guys that will for now, thanks for stopping by.
