Greetings dear friends. Reading the interesting proposals of friend @galenkp in Weekend-Engagement topics: WEEK 295, of the 4 proposals, I chose the following:
Do you feel you need to lose weight and if so why? is it for your health's sake or your physical looks? Explain.
Losing weight has definitely been one of my goals, because I simply took refuge in food and ended up weighing 85 kilos. For my height of 1.60 meters, weighing more than 80 kilos is too much, not only because it affected my physical appearance, but also my health, everything. Due to depression after a breakup and entering menopause, I started eating out of anxiety, and insomnia left me with free time in the early hours of the morning that demanded stress relief, and only food calmed me down. Yes, I would get up in the middle of the night to fry churros, tequeños, eat sweets, drink sugary drinks, and anything else I could find in the cupboard and refrigerator..

I ate excessively, leading a sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle. Getting dressed became torture; everything was too tight, and I felt heavy and tired all the time. My physical appearance was deteriorating, I didn't look good, and my clothes didn't fit me well; almost nothing in my closet fit me anymore. My friends never tired of telling me that I was very fat. It didn't bother me when they said I had gained a tremendous amount of weight. It was the fatigue, my appearance, the heaviness, everything. I didn't get any tests done to find out what my levels were, but I was sure they were all out of range.
Necesité bajar de peso urgente, entonces, puse en marcha mi plan de hacer ejercicios, practicando varias disciplinas deportivas, como aeróbics, bailoterapia, baile combate y ejercicios funcionales. También cambié mi régimen alimenticio, incluí jugos naturales, proteínas, vegetales, además, reduje el consumo de carbohidratos y frituras.



I am very glad I did it, especially for my health, which is the most important thing in our lives. The results have been obvious and, above all, very satisfying. I went from 187 pounds to 161 pounds. Although I still need to lose another 4 or 6 pounds, I feel good, especially because my health is good too. I feel active, lighter, my clothes fit great, and I feel happy because exercise releases happiness hormones.

That must have been quite a terrible experience, having to go through the heartbreak followed by depression and the battle with insomnia.
Nevertheless, I'm just glad you advocated for a change. Health is indeed said to be wealth and your appearance and every other in general has taken shape 🙂.
