On the tightrope - En la cuerda floja
In my country, we are all a bit tightrope walker and we have experience with the rope and the trapeze, at least in terms of the economy if you understand the metaphor, it is sad, although it seems funny.
For many years, the economy has had a bad hand for us, and restrictions of all kinds and inflation mean that we have to use extreme resources to take care of our income and try to save them from the increase in prices that at times is uncontrollable.
Just yesterday the news about a new restriction was known, we will not be able to buy tickets or services of hotels and rental cars in installments to use abroad, if you ask me why, I do not know sincerely, the government says that It is to save dollars, I think it is partly because they hate us, otherwise they do not understand what they are looking for.
Today it caught my attention to see this young man placing a rope between two trees crossing a busy street right at the intersection with an avenue that is one of the busiest on weekdays.
Without warning he climbed onto his bicycle and from there onto the rope that was raised above his head, some nails in his hands and crossing balancing, all for a few coins that motorists and passers-by give him at will, perhaps because this The young man distracted them from their problems and worries for just a few moments.
I was forced to give him some pesos too, because of his sympathy, because of his bravery, because I was glad for a moment to see him defy gravity with his self-confidence and his sense of humor.
He also seeks to obtain income and despite the obvious contradiction, he juggles and balances to live in Argentina today working as a tightrope walker.
En mi país todos somos un poco equilibristas y tenemos experiencia con la cuerda y el trapecio, al menos en cuanto a la economía se refiere si es que entienden la metáfora, es triste, aunque parezca gracioso.
Desde hace muchos años la economía nos tiene a mal traer y las restricciones de todo tipo y la inflación provocan que debamos extremar recursos para cuidar nuestros ingresos y tratar de salvarlos del aumento de precios que por momentos es incontrolable.
Justamente en el día de ayer se conoció la noticia sobre una nueva restricción, no podremos comprar pasajes ni servicios de hoteles y automóviles de alquiler en cuotas para utilizar en el exterior, si me preguntan el porqué, no lo se sinceramente, el gobierno dice que es para ahorrar dólares, yo creo que en parte es porque nos odian, de otra manera no se entienden que es lo que buscan.
Hoy llamó mi atención ver a este joven colocando una cuerda entre dos árboles cruzando una calle de mucho tránsito justo en la intersección con una avenida que es de las más concurridas en días laborables.
Sin mediar aviso se trepó a su bicicleta y desde allí a la cuerda que estaba elevada por encima de su cabeza, unas clavas en las manos y a cruzar haciendo equilibrio, todo por unas monedas que los automovilistas y transeúntes le dan a voluntad, quizás porque este joven los distrajo de sus problemas y preocupaciones solo por unos instantes.
Yo también me vi obligado a darle algunos pesos, por su simpatía, por su valentía, porque me alegró un momento verlo desafiar la gravedad con su desparpajo y su sentido del humor.
El también busca obtener ingresos y pese a la contradicción evidente, hace malabares y equilibrio para vivir en la Argentina de hoy trabajando de equilibrista en la cuerda floja.
