Escape velocity - velocidad de escape
A week ago, trying to catch up on the news about cryptocurrencies that I put aside only for the time that my excursion to the south of the country lasted, I read an article that gave some context to the things that are happening in the world of the blockchain.
That is very good when it comes to my country since around here politicians and a large part of society are still involved in the left-right fight while the world advances at escape speed; For those who are not familiar with the term, I will say without going into technical details that on the other hand totally exceed my knowledge in the matter, which is approximately 11 kilometers per second, the minimum speed necessary to get out of the terrestrial attraction, something that aerospace science he strictly respects when sending something beyond the earth's atmosphere is concerned.
The article in question talked about escape speed, although it also referred to the time of dogs (which for us represents a year for canines is approximately 7) and of course to the speed of light, all metaphors to try to illustrate the speed with which technology advances in these times, led of course by blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
Of course, their prices, led by bitcoin, are just the tip of an iceberg bigger than the one that sank the Titanic. They are just "corn", an acquaintance would say, referring to something that is distracting while the substance moves crouching in the shadows and without raising suspicions.
For most people the crypto world is weird, it is a fool's trap, it is revolutionary, it is overrated or underrated. Perhaps all this is true depending on the color of the glass with which you look at it, what no one can argue is that it is dizzying.
While a large number of companies and developers are relying on technology to create countless applications that help human beings to develop better, to integrate part of the society excluded from the world of savings and financial identity, others of course think like keeping a part of that enormous economic potential by cheating and deceiving is part of life itself.
Here our leaders have not thought of how to take advantage of that technology to take a step forward and enter the world of the future, they have only dedicated efforts to devise a tax. Also here they did not try too hard or have lights, they adapted the old and obsolete check tax to keep a part of something they do not even understand.
We walk at the pace of the snail, not even at the speed of the turtle, which at every moment escapes them more and more.
Una semana atrás, tratando de ponerme al día con las noticias sobre criptomonedas que dejé de lado solo por el tiempo que duró mi excursión al sur del país, leí un artículo que daba algo de contexto a las cosas que están pasando en el mundo de la blockchain.
Eso es muy bueno tratándose de mi país ya que por aquí todavía los políticos y gran parte de la sociedad están enfrascados en la pelea izquierda-derecha mientras el mundo avanza a la velocidad de escape; para aquellos que no está familiarizado con el término diré sin entrar en detalles técnicos que por otro lado exceden totalmente mis conocimientos en la materia, que son aproximadamente 11 kilómetros por segundo, celeridad mínima necesaria para salir de la atracción terrestre, algo que la ciencia aeroespacial respeta a rajatablas cuando de enviar algo más allá de la atmósfera terrestre se refiere.
El artículo en cuestión hablaba de velocidad de escape, aunque también se refería al tiempo de los perros (lo que para nosotros representa un año para los caninos son 7 aproximadamente) y por supuesto a la velocidad de la luz, todas metáforas para tratar de ilustrar la rapidez con la que la tecnología avanza en estos tiempos, liderada por supuesto por la blockchain y las criptomonedas.
Por supuesto que el precio de las mismas, lideradas por el bitcoin, son solo la punta de un iceberg más grande que el que hundió al Titanic. Son solo “maíces” diría un conocido refiriéndose a algo que distrae mientras lo sustancial avanza agazapado entre sombras y sin levantar sospechas.
Para la mayoría de las personas el mundo cripto es raro, es una trampa para tontos, es revolucionario, está sobreestimado o subestimado. Quizás todo eso sea cierto dependiendo del color del cristal con que se lo mire, lo que nadie puede discutir es que es vertiginoso.
Mientras una gran cantidad de empresas y desarrolladores se están basando en la tecnología para crear un sinnúmero de aplicaciones que ayuden al ser humano a desarrollarse mejor, a integrar parte de la sociedad excluida del mundo del ahorro y la identidad financiera, otros por supuesto piensan como quedarse con una parte de ese enorme potencial económico haciendo trampas y engañando, es parte de la vida misma.
Aquí a nuestros gobernantes no se les ha ocurrido como aprovechar esa tecnología para dar un paso hacia adelante y entrar al mundo del futuro, solo han dedicado esfuerzos para idear un impuesto. Tampoco aquí se esforzaron demasiado ni tuvieron luces, adaptaron el viejo y obsoleto impuesto al cheque para quedarse con una parte de algo que ni siquiera entienden.
Andamos al paso del caracol, ni siquiera a la velocidad de la tortuga, la que a cada instante se les escapa más y más.
