Candles, votes and news - Velas, votos y noticias
Earlier today I was deciding what to publish, lately, I have taken the habit of having several topics prepared, after reading them several times and confirming data on the web, I decide which one I am going to post that day. Of course, if something comes up that I find more attractive or shocking news at the last minute, I change my plans and write on the spot.
It is not that I have too much time, but every day I reserve some time to develop this activity, it is like an additional job where I do not earn much but as a counterpart, it gives me satisfaction, it helps me to learn, it keeps me updated, it allows me to relate to others and like I said, it allows me to get some extra income that never hurts.
After lunch, I read a post entitled "Who's influencing what" an interesting work by @ErikaH that you can read by clicking Here.
The more I read, the more I associated it with the primary elections held yesterday in my country, not because of the count itself but because of the news that anticipated the possible results as soon as the elections ended and there were still no official figures. A custom that exists, I believe, in all countries where democracy is exercised through voting.
Fake news
@erikah talks about green and red candles, appearing in the graphs that show the variations of the different cryptocurrencies, of the unfounded rumors that made some rise and fall; While he was reading, he remembered a militant journalist (an oxymoron) who, as in the presidential elections of 2015, anticipated the triumph of the ruling party, which later was not, now, 6 years later, he repeated the same mistake; at 6:00 p.m. just about the close of the elections he gave the news of the triumph of the ruling party. He does not learn or is paid for making a mistake expressly, confusing the population with an objective that is difficult to explain. A green candle to which a while later a larger red one appears next to it because an opposition candidate had sent to relieve several witness tables and his results predicted his own triumph.
Hijacked information
At around 8:00 p.m., again a large green candle of the ruling party, the candidates from the province of Buenos Aires go out to a box surrounded by militants and amid the euphoria, they celebrate the triumph. At 9:15 p.m., the official data was not yet made public despite the fact that everyone already knew that half of the register was scrutinized, suspicion of information concealment, and therefore suspicion that the red candle would soon appear.

Finally, around 9:30 p.m. the big surprise is announced, the ruling party loses practically the entire country, including the province of Buenos Aires, the main bastion that has led it to win many elections. That red candle will no longer have a new green candle to its right.
Unlike what @erikah tells in his publication, here the one who lost could not hide and had to be forced to admit his defeat, unlike the investor who had no problem in admitting his loss, surely that person knows that sometimes you win and in others, you lose.
Politics is sometimes like investments and asset prices, sometimes there are surprises. The difference is that in politics the green and red candles are all the inhabitants of the country.
Hoy temprano estaba decidiendo que publicar, últimamente he tomado por costumbre tener varios temas preparados, luego de leerlos varias veces y confirmar datos en la web, decido cual voy a colgar ese día. Por supuesto que si surge algo que me parezca más atractivo o una noticia impactante de último momento cambio de planes y redacto en el momento.
No es que me sobre el tiempo, pero todos los días me reservo un rato para desarrollar esta actividad, es como un trabajo adicional donde no gano mucho pero como contraparte me da satisfacción, me ayuda a aprender, me mantiene actualizado, me permite relacionarme con otros y como dije, me permite obtener algunos ingresos extra que nunca vienen mal.
Luego del almuerzo leí un post titulado “Quien influye en qué” un interesante trabajo de @ErikaH que pueden leer haciendo clic Aquí.
Cuanto más leía más lo asociaba con las elecciones primarias desarrolladas ayer en mi país, no por el recuento en si sino por las noticias que anticipaban los posibles resultados apenas finalizados los comicios y sin que todavía hubiera cifras oficiales. Una costumbre que existe, según creo, en todos los países donde se ejerce la democracia mediante el voto.
Noticias falsas
@erikah habla de velas verdes y rojas, apareciendo en los gráficos que muestran las variaciones de las diferentes criptomonedas, de los rumores infundados que hacían subir y bajar algunas; mientras leía recordaba a un periodista militante (un oxímoron) que al igual que en las elecciones presidenciales del año 2015 anticipaba el triunfo del oficialismo que luego no fue, ahora, 6 años después, repetía el mismo error; a las 18:00 justo sobre el cierre de los comicios daba la noticia del triunfo del partido gobernante. No aprende o le pagan por equivocarse de exprofeso confundiendo a la población con un objetivo difícil de explicar. Una Vela verde a la que un rato después le aparece al lado una roja de mayor tamaño porque un candidato opositor había mandado a relevar varias mesas testigo y sus resultados le auguraban un triunfo propio.
Información secuestrada
A eso de las 20:00 otra vez una gran vela verde del oficialismo, los candidatos de la provincia de Buenos Aires salen a un palco rodeado de militantes y en medio de la euforia festejan el triunfo. A las 21:15 todavía no se hacían públicos los datos oficiales pese a que ya todos sabían que estaba escrutado la mitad del padrón, sospecha de ocultamiento de información y por lo tanto sospecha de que la vela roja no tardaría en aparecer.
Opiniones libres, hechos sagrados
Finalmente, cerca de las 21:30 se da a conocer la gran sorpresa, el oficialismo pierde prácticamente en todo el país, incluida la provincia de Buenos Aires, bastión principal que lo ha llevado a ganar muchas elecciones. Esa vela roja ya no tendrá una nueva vela verde a su derecha.
A diferencia de lo que cuenta @erikah en su publicación, aquí el que perdió no pudo esconderse y tuvo que salir obligado a reconocer su derrota, a diferencia del inversor que no tuvo ningún inconveniente en reconocer su pérdida, Seguramente esa persona sabe que a veces se gana y en otras se pierde.
La política en ocasiones es como las inversiones y las cotizaciones de activos, a veces hay sorpresas. La diferencia está en que en la política las velas verdes y rojas son todos los habitantes del país.
