Wednesday Walk - A walkabout at Shelly beach

avatar

We do our business in Shelly Beach about 30km from where we stay in Munster on the South Coast of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. So we don't normally go to the beach in Shelly.

But on this day, we were not in the mood to rush home, so we decided to go to the beach.
It was a windy day but clear blue skies and blue oceans as we are used to here in South Africa.

The above photo is the swimming beach, but it's also a major boat launching beach. Lots of boats go out daily weather permitting, to go fishing and lots of them are focussed on Tourism. They take tourist to go fishing, for quite a hefty fee. These operators provide the gear and bait, but you get to keep your fish.

Hubby and I still wants to go on such a boat ride. I was last on a fishing boat 40 years ago, when I was still in high school. It's so exciting to catch fish from a boat, lots of bites and lots of fish.

From the beach, we just took a walk between the boats. It was afternoon and the boats were being cleaned after they went out in the morning and came back.

Lots of boats here at this boat launching site.

Below is the launching pad itself where they launch into the sea. The building is the Club House.

So we made our way back to the beach side where our car was parked.

Do you have any experience with living on a sailboat? Or any boat? If yes, then what is the cheapest way? Is there a cheap way? Some people say yes, but many people say no, stating that maintaining a sailboat is very expensive.

I live with multiple disabilities, nowadays under the minimum wage. My pension-like income is approximately $250 USD per month.

I am trying to find a way to avoid having to pay the high rent and the also high regular monthly bills.

Thank you for any tips/suggestions.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greeting and much love from Hungary.
