In my previous post we started to look at Jesus, born as a child, but he was no ordinary child. You can read about it in the link below:

Today we will look what had further happened to Jesus. He had grown up and was 33 years old when he started to do the work that God, His father send him to do. The first thing that happened is that he was baptized.

John the Baptist was baptizing sinners that decided to repent from a life of sin and turned to God. As a sign of this repentance they got baptized.
Jesus was the first man that had no sin, but he went to John the Baptist and asked him to also baptised him.

Let's read in the Bible what happened:
Then Jesus went from Galilee to the river Jordan. He wanted John to baptize him. But John tried to stop him. He said to Jesus, ‘I should ask you to baptize me. You should not ask me to baptize you.’ Jesus replied, ‘This time, do what I ask you to do. We must do everything correctly, as God wants it.’ So John did what Jesus asked him to do. When John baptized him, Jesus came up out of the water. At that moment, the skies opened. Jesus saw God's Spirit coming down. He came down like a dove and he stayed on Jesus. Then a voice spoke from heaven, which said, ‘This man is my Son and I love him. He makes me very happy.’

This event was very special, you remember that I taught you that God is a Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Here we see the full Trinity, Jesus in the water, the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove came down on Jesus, and God, the Father spoke in a voice from heaven, that people could hear.

After this the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness. Jesus did not eat for 40 days and 40 nights. Then Satan came to Him trying to temp Jesus to sin. The devil knew Jesus was very hungry, and he said to Jesus, "You can change the stones into bread."
Jesus answered the devil: “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

Then the devil took Jesus to the highest point on the temple roof, in Jerusalem, and told Jesus to jump off, that God will tell the angels to catch Jesus but,
Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”

Then the devil led Jesus to a very high mountain, he showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world. He said to Jesus if you bow down before me and worship me, I will give all these kingdoms to you.
Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
Then Satan went away from Jesus and God send His angels down to Jesus to encourage, support and feed Jesus.

Next time we will see what Jesus did next.

Above a summary of the 3 temptations that Jesus had victory over. He did not give in to the devil.

Thank you for reading and learning with me from God's word.
