Tutorial on Making Patterns and Sewing a Drawstring Dress

avatar

Sewing, namely joining threads between threads that require separate ideas and creativity, also requires great techniques that can make the clothes look good and luxurious. Sewing is not as easy as other people think it looks like it is very easy to do even though all of that is only from people's eyes.

Being in a position that is not the place where we are, of course there is a feeling of wanting to be in his position even though it is all just lust which can make us blind to everything that has been obtained and make people feel ungrateful for their respective strengths.

Being a tailor does have many other side effects, including that it can cause a lack of eye health which is easily myopic. But all that doesn't matter to me why? because sewing, there are times when there are a lot of stitches, there are times when there are not enough stitches. So, use the abilities you have now and respect yourself, it is very important to love yourself first, then you can love and like the work you are doing now.

Well, here I have two and a half meters of cloth. I want to make a tiered dress that has three levels.
This is not a child's dress but an adult's dress because this dress is creased and this level is also a dress that has a lot more used by people in my area. To sew a dress like this, you first need to know how much meter fabric you will spend because sewing this dress requires at least 2 meters and a half less than 2 and a half meters, so it won't be enough because this is an adult's dress.

When I folded the fabric for this dress model, I folded it in a rectangle like the usual pattern. I started from the middle down, so I counted from the bottom first for the skirt pattern. Usually, if I want to sew a dress, what I have to do first is measure the skirt pattern first, whether the dress is I'm working on it now and dresses that have a cut at the waist. So I have to start with the skirt measurement first, because this is to save on the fabric.

This is the front pattern that I measure starting from the skirt from the middle down then after I measure the size of the skirt first to three levels then I measure the front body pattern. In the front pattern later I will make a front zipper, namely a Japanese zipper so that it looks good, so in this front pattern I will increase it by about one inch so I can add a front zipper later.

So this is the back pattern after I cut the front pattern then I traced the front on the back so I only put the front pattern cloth on top of the back pattern cloth. Then I cut it off by exaggerating the armpit about half an inch at the waist half an inch to make the back circumferential also at the shoulder I raised it half an inch and I took it down 1 inch at the neck.

How to fold to make the sleeve pattern I fold it in a rectangle as usual so I cut it all into two arms and I start from the top As usual.

This is the result of cutting and measuring for a three-tiered dress pattern so first I sewed it on and then I seared the fabric I made earlier.

First I made ebb for the skirt pattern to make it easier, I made ebb for all levels 1, 2 to 3 then I just connected it to the front pattern after I overdone it.

This is the result of measuring and making the pattern after I made the drawstring first, then I connected it with the waist, namely the front pattern, and I also connected it with the sleeve pattern.

Finally, this is the result of a tiered dress using a zipper on the front. I also added a variation in the front for the zipper to make it prettier and I added elastic at the ends of the sleeves to make it easier to wear because this is a dress for adults. This shirt is very suitable for use anytime and anywhere, it is also very suitable for use anywhere, because this shirt does not dominate formality, so wherever you want to go, of course wearing clothes like this is very comfortable and of course suitable for all ages of adults.

Thank you for listening to the tutorial that I made, see you in my next post.

For me, sewing is the most difficult skill I have known.

Your post is helpful especially to those who are still learning it.
Thanks for being kind with your knowledge.

You are right, sewing is indeed very difficult before I entered the world of sewing, I thought sewing was easy, even though after I learned it was indeed very complicated. Thanks again for stopping by.

Sewing is a very useful and important skill, it allows you to design the garments to your liking and combine your favorite colors, it is not as easy as it seems, but as you go along you get "tricks" and ideas that make the work easier, I like to sew and I enjoy it very much, it is my moment of relaxation and total concentration.

Blessings!
