Happy New Year to all! I hope that you have spent this time between years with your loved ones or maybe you did something to warm your soul! I can't wait to see what this new year brings us and how we all educate our children at home, sharing here in the community different techniques, methods or work strategies that really help our kids in their homeschooling learning process.

Although activity in the community has been a bit slower lately, we're looking forward to bring you this week's highlights.
First our usual thank you everyone who makes this community what it is. This week 5% beneficiaries for interaction and contribution to the HomeEdders community go to:

@ryivhnn
@belkyscabrera
@missleray

More updates coming from @ryivhnn this last week. Dessert presentation experiments, origami, Zoo trips and most interesting, homeschooling talks between her and 13y old son. Homeschooling decisions, learning activities and routine aren't always smooth and sometimes parents or children feel that they're at a standstill, so we better stay calm and just try to handle at our best these situations.

Looking for an idea on how to learn or improve English words in children? Maybe the way @belkyscabrera went on the topic is something you could do too? Studying words, memorizing, writing and pronouncion is what they did here, with the months of the year.

If you or the kids need a little Science & Experiments Time, this is something you can try in a second. @taliakerch shows us what she and her little boy did one of these days in order to have some fun and meanwhile, learning some cool stuff. Fun experiments at home is a great way to awake natural kid's interest to sciences, chemistry and physics.

Or maybe you need an idea for Art Lessons? Why not trying some painting on one hand? Kids love fun, original and crazy ideas so why not go with this? @queenart shows us this is possible by just using a brush and a few painting colors. I'm sure kids would find some creativity and imagination to put into this.

Traffic education is an important topic that we must discuss with our children from an early age. One day, their safety will also depend on this and certainly teaching them about traffic lights, signs or road symbols is not a bad idea. And this is exactly what @leomarylm did with her two little girls.

In her last post, @ingridontheroad shares with us her journey of homeschooling her kids in Australia, though she was moving in this country all the way from Netherlands. She's been teaching her kids English and over time, while she was continously learning herself and getting better at it, she started to create a list of homophones, antonyms, rhyming words which she shared with us in a free eBook that you can download if you want. You'll find English Words worksheets and some coloring sheets too.
