Home Education Curation Collection. 4th June 2023

Time flies! We're already starting the last month of the first half of the year, but that's just a small indicator of how quickly time passes. There are homeschoolers in this community who I've had the pleasure of watching grow and it's hit me recently that they are now years older than when they first started on their homeschooling journey. This week we feature three of those very homeschoolers.

First our usual thank you everyone who makes this community what it is. This week 5% beneficiaries for interaction and contribution to the HomeEdders community go to:

@romeskie
@missdeli

When @romeskie first joined us with her little learner, it was early days in the community and early days for them starting on their homeschooling journey. The little miss wasn't officially at the age of needing to register for formal education, but they had already decided this would be the route they would take and now she is starting grade 2. I recall how unsure Mum was, like many of us when we chose to take personal responsibility for our children's education. I loved seeing the support come in from the community and how mum and daughter grew and learnt together.

@romeskie doesn't always find time to share their homeschooling journey here so it's been great to see two updates this week! Her latest is on lesson planning as they start the new school year a little early. One of the perks of the flexibility of homeschooling is working to your own time table.

Another homeschooler who has been with us from the start is @taliakerch. Her little man was also not officially at formal education age when they first joined us, but mum again knew that homeschooling was the route they were taking and we've watched as they have grown on their journey. I've admired the confidence mum has had throughout, both in her ability to teach her son and her knowledge that this was the best option for him.

This week Talia also shared twice in the community with some fun activities they have been doing. The most recent was a brain game for kids, and adults too if they want to join in. 😉

I'm glad @missdeli found some time to share with us this week. While she didn't join us early in the life of the community, I'm sure you all know her well and she's been with us for a while. Her bright young man is now four and therefore not officially at formal eduction age, but we've seen him grow for at least two years now. These two remind me that education is not something we have to wait for school to do, but instinctively do as parents anyway. We know our children best and what they are capable of, so whichever path we choose for them moving forward, we prepare them first at home.

This week @missdeli shares their adventures with the sun and the seasons, learning how it moves across the sky during the day.

Ultimately no matter when they joined us, we value what everyone has brought to this community and love that we can share from across the world when it comes to learning. @yessi08 has been sharing her clever learning ideas for a while now and this week she brought us a fun, interactive maths activity. I love an activity that can be used and changed over and over.

And for young learners the lovely @emmaris brings us an interactive concentration activity to get little minds exercising and growing.

Thank you for joining us. This curation was brought to you by @minismallholding and this week I have added @canadian-coconut as 10% beneficiary for the ongoing delegation support. Thank you!
