I've had little success transplanting, so it's time to try again, this time with a watermelon plant 🍉

Thank you, Hivegarden friends, for sharing a new post here in the #hivegarden community. I'm sharing some great photos I took a few minutes ago. A watermelon plant was sprouting up in front of the house, and I know it's unlikely to take after transplanting, but you always have to keep trying until you achieve your goal of getting a good harvest. Besides, where it was, it probably wouldn't grow much more, firstly because the sun is very strong there, and secondly because people passing by could easily damage it.

To pull it out, I needed two main tools: a machete and a shovel. I wanted to remove as much soil as possible while trying not to damage the roots.

Once I found the right spot, I dug a hole, quite deep in this case, so the watermelon plant could fit completely inside, leaving only the area where it started to spread. This is how it looked after I covered it with the soil I had removed from the hole earlier.

It just needed a little water to help it take root more easily, so I wanted to protect its roots as much as possible. I added a liter of water and will try to water it every day until it's completely rooted and to prevent it from drying out.
