My Life's Journey

My leadership role right from secondary school shaped me into what I am becoming now. During my secondary school days, I was given the role of a class prefect in junior class, thereafter I was appointed the timekeeper and finally became the senior prefect of my set. These responsibilities were something I declined wholeheartedly because I was avoiding being accountable to another talk less of the class, but the school authority ignored my request and assigned more tasks to me. Today, I’m happy for what they did to my life. Before now, I was seen to be a timid person even though I was kind of fluent when conversing with my friends; however, I didn’t want to be known, just loved my own space.

On a fateful day, my class teacher made me the class captain based on the election of the class. I was surprised my classmates wanted me to lead them; gracefully, I was able to lead them aright. Due to my good report, I was asked to continue the office throughout my junior class days. Moving forward, I discovered the more I was leading, the more I came out of my shell; also, I was able to represent my class in teachers’ meetings and lots more. These gradual activities led me to become confident and outspoken. What sparked my potential was when I became the senior prefect, I was allowed to address the school weekly making me a good public speaker. I became intentional in this skill when I was asked to moderate a birthday ceremony and school party.

My Skill

With this evidence, I knew public speaking was my calling and I can proudly say that the skill has introduced me to many people of high prestige; as part of my achievement, I have hosted an event that incorporated over 400 students in attendance, and I’m hoping to do something bigger this year.

About training people like-minded, it will be a fulfilled desire to do so this year. The aim is to bring out the potential of people who feel less of themselves or are shying away.

In conclusion, I am always happy to see people embracing their challenges and taking on leadership roles because it shapes one's character, uncovers hidden talents, and ultimately paves the way for personal and professional success. Hopefully, this year, I will raise public speakers in my society, people who are ready to transform the world by sharing positive innovations that spark the minds of millions of people!
