Mirada de río, alma Macuxi. Aventura poetica. [Esp/Eng].

Si el río abriese los ojos y me mirara: "Antología de la continuidad" es el lema que guía las voces de la nueva poesía venezolana. Llevo tres años inmerso en la lectura y escucha de lo que escriben estos jóvenes, quienes se articulan con otros por la geografía americana, tejiendo una inédita intención lírica. Me atrae el susurro de las mansas luces que emiten sus miradas, voces que narran los irresistibles momentos que hoy vive la humanidad.

If the river would open its eyes and look at me: ‘Anthology of continuity’ is the motto that guides the voices of the new Venezuelan poetry. For three years I have been immersed in reading and listening to the writing of these young people, who articulate with others throughout the American geography, weaving an unprecedented lyrical intention. I am attracted to the whisper of the gentle lights emitted by their gazes, voices that narrate the irresistible moments that humanity is living today.

Siento el río y todos los ríos viajar por los cauces de mi región amazónica. El Amazonas y el Orinoco guardan infinitas historias. Cada vez que cruzo una carretera, un puente o una autopista, y los veo brillar con la luz de plata, oro y diamante en sus leves corrientes, siento que son mi propia sangre.

I feel the river and all the rivers travel through the riverbeds of my Amazon region. The Amazon and the Orinoco hold infinite stories. Every time I cross a road, a bridge or a highway, and see them shining with silver, gold and diamond light in their gentle currents, I feel that they are my own blood.

Es pertinente, destacar la decidida determinación de los ríos al mirarme en mi búsqueda para guiar mi vida aventurera; también me niegan la opción de acercarme para admirar sus corrientes. Consciente, me he decidido a concebir en mi espíritu los acontecimientos sobre el plano literal de la mirada del río.

It is pertinent to note the resolute determination of the rivers as they look to me in my quest to guide my adventurous life; they also deny me the option of approaching them to admire their currents. Consciously, I have decided to conceive in my spirit the events on the literal plane of the river's gaze.

Estoy en la orilla del río,
busco con ansiedad tu mirada.
Ella viene escribiendo sobre el lienzo de las aguas,
con la tinta de espuma.

I am on the river bank,
I anxiously seek your gaze.
It comes writing on the canvas of the waters,
with the ink of foam.

Tu rostro me mira desde el espejo del remanso.
Estoy solo, absorto; recuerdo tu vientre en las espesas raíces.
La selva cantaba con extensor frenesí.
Las garzas volaban en la alta lejanía de las gruesas nubes.

Your face looks at me from the mirror of the backwater.
I am alone, absorbed; I remember your belly in the thick roots.
The jungle sang in a frenzied frenzy.
Herons flew in the high distance of the thick clouds.

Anhelo tu mirada de río macuxi.
Tus alas se despliegan,
llevan mi mirada a los confines de la gran sabana,
me llevan contigo hasta perderse con el plenilunio.

I long for your macuxi river gaze.
Your wings spread out,
they carry my gaze to the confines of the great savannah,
they take me with you to the full moon.

Aquí estoy sentado en mi barca,
añorándote con esta tristeza que me arropa.
Te espero para saciarme de abrazos y besos.
Allí abajo, en el barranco,
estoy triste, huelo tu piel mojada.

Here I sit in my boat
Longing for you with this sadness that envelops me.
I wait for you to satiate me with hugs and kisses.
Down there, in the ravine
I'm sad, I smell your wet skin.

Reservas un dejo de nostalgia,
siempre con tu leve navegar.
Deja que navegue contigo
para ver cómo son tus míticos ojos
¿Qué viajan al encuentro del Amazonas y el mar?

You reserve a hint of nostalgia,
Always with your light sailing.
Let me sail with you
to see what your mythical eyes are like
Which travel to meet the Amazon and the sea?

Me pierdo en la profunda mirada,
para que siempre permanezca tu figura erguida,
entre cielo y río, sentir el olvido perenne de Río Branco.

I lose myself in your deep gaze,
so that your figure will always remain erect,
between sky and river, to feel the perennial oblivion of Rio Branco.

¿Por qué tu mirada me embalsama?
Siento tu mirada indígena macuxi
en la alborada y el conticinio.
Allí está el lucero,
sosteniendo cómo crece la luna.

Why does your gaze embalm me?
I feel your indigenous macuxi gaze
in the dawn and the conticinio.
There is the star
holding how the moon grows.
