Are You Happy, If You Have Money?

avatar

Is it possible to become happier with money? This is one of the key questions when it comes to happiness, especially in the context of work. Will you be happier if you keep looking for jobs that pay more money? Are your employees happier if you pay them more?

These are the types of inquiries that both individuals and organizations must address. At The Happiness Index, we continue to advocate turning to science. It's simple to discover some answers to our queries because there have been numerous studies looking at how money affects happiness.

When it enables us to meet our fundamental wants, money helps us be happier, but research shows that, at a certain point, having more money doesn't necessarily lead to being happier sometimes it brings some form of downside also..

Does money make you happy?

The simple answer to this question is Yes.. who on earth would wish he or she does not have money? It's true they say that when you have money you can do all things, but I sometimes disagree with that. Money is good tho, but not everything money can do if you will agree with me.. Money is a spirit of happiness that when you have a little of it in your closet, you will find life so easy to deal with.

Will Having Millions of Dollars Make You Happier?

The studies mentioned above solely examine earnings that fall within the range of average earners. Many people aim to make millions and live the extravagant lifestyle of a professional footballer. Is it fair to blame them? Will this, however, make them happier? Let's take a closer look at other studies to investigate these concerns.

In order to determine whether multimillionaires were happy, a 2017 study examined their happiness. In this study, scores on lifestyle satisfaction were computed for 4,000 US millionaires. The study discovered that there is a connection between wealth and happiness in this situation, just like there is with us simple humans. According to studies by Grant Donnelly et al, there isn't much of a difference in the satisfaction of multimillionaires until we reach individuals worth above $10 million. Despite this, these extremely wealthy decamillionaires aren't noticeably happier than typical millionaires. Donnelly calls the difference "small."

Therefore, it would appear that even multimillionaires don't have a much higher level of happiness than people who earn average salaries. What if, however, we examined how these individuals become wealthy?
