De ligt exit from Juventus
Matthijs de Ligt's Italian adventure at Juventus has not been a widespread success. Since his arrival from Ajax in 2019, the Dutch central defender has struggled with injuries and has often been behind club legends Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci in the queue for playing time. De Ligt actually has a contract with Juventus until the summer of 2024, but may already be on his way away.
According to Italian media Calcio Mercato, the 22-year-old midfielder is in high gear at several major Premier League clubs. According to the media, De Ligt's agent, Mino Raiola, is in dialogue with both Manchester City and Chelsea.
The two Premier League top clubs are reportedly both interested in picking up the Ligt, but Juventus will not let him go for less than his current buy-out clause amount.
Juventus picked up the Ligt at Ajax after the Dutch club's excellent season in 2018/19, where they reached the Champions League semi-final, but smoked out the very last second to Tottenham.
