Hola, amigos de esta hermosa comunidad de Hive Open Mic, nuestra reciente artista destacada @zullyscott nos convocó a sintonizarnos con la temática "Magic" en esta semana #138.

La magia puede ser buena o mala, en este caso traigo una canción que trata de unos ojos mágicos, que "tienen hechizo" pero son unos "Ojos malignos". Esta canción fue popularizada en Venezuela por la excelente vocalista Soledad Bravo y fue el tema musical de la exitosa telenovela "K'ina". En ella había mucho de magia y sortilegio y tuvo un personaje muy recordado: Maniña Yerichana, una enigmática dama que se bañaba con leche de las jaguares.

Estrenamos en esta pieza un nuevo instrumento: el cencerro, tocado por @orlandobello. Notarán que hay momentos en que bajamos el volumen de guitarra y voces para darle protagonismo y luego, al final, guarda silencio y es solamente la guitarra la que acompaña el canto.

Hello friends of this beautiful Hive Open Mic community, our recent featured artist @zullyscott invited us to tune in to the theme "Magic" this week #138.

Magic can be good or bad, in this case I bring a song about magical eyes, which "have a spell" but are "Evil Eyes". This song was popularized in Venezuela by the excellent vocalist Soledad Bravo and was the musical theme of the successful soap opera "K'ina". There was a lot of magic and sorcery in it and it had a well-remembered character: Maniña Yerichana, an enigmatic lady who bathed with milk from jaguars.

In this piece we premiere a new instrument: the cowbell, played by @orlandobello. You will notice that there are moments when we lower the volume of the guitar and vocals to give it prominence and then, at the end, it is silent and it is only the guitar that accompanies the singing.

¿Quién es Soledad Bravo?

Cantante y compositora venezolana, de origen español, nacida en Logroño en 1948. Su familia emigró a Venezuela cuando ella tenía siete años. Realizó sus estudios primarios y secundarios en Caracas, estos últimos en el Liceo Rafael Urdaneta, donde formó un grupo musical con el que actuaba en diversos eventos estudiantiles a finales de los años 60. Se inició profesionalmente interpretando y poniendo música a letras de poetas españoles y americanos; su música evolucionó hacia las formas populares de la canción caribeña y continental.
