What did we do wrong? Who do we please?

Since we resumed this semester, I haven't had enough rest.

So the previous day was a rather stressful one. Our first class closed at about 5:30pm but we were given an assignment to do which was due the next day. I stayed up at night to finish the assignment.

Meanwhile the following day, according to the timetable we have a lecture that starts by 7:00am. So I had to wake up as early as 5:30am. Took my bath and made the necessary arrangements because Im living off campus. Left home around 6:35am and fortunately I got to the lecture room few minutes before 7:00am.

Started this lecture by 7:00am. It is a 2 hours lecture which should end by 9:00am. But we were delayed by the lecturer because some left for another class before 9:00am. And this was due to the pressure from the other lecturer that we shouldn't be a minute late to his class.

He finally freed us by 9:04am. Before we could get to the next lecture theater, it was 9:08am already (this was possible because we ran to the lecture theater). On getting there we found out the lecturer had locked the door at 9:05am.

We were late by 6 minutes, but due to the usual lecture theater layout where one cannot enter without the lecturer unlocking it.
We waited on the stairs for a while, hoping he would pity us and call us in as soon as possible so we can go inside. But no! We stood outside till the one hour lecture ended.

It was so painful, like who should we please? One lecturer was angry we left the class quickly and the other was angry because we were late to the class.

Later at night, we got a message from the course rep that we need to apologize to the first lecturer that delayed us and made us miss the other lecture. They said he was really angry. I was like, why would I apologize? Had it been I was able to attend the other lecture, then I'll consider the apology. But I missed another class because he didn't release us on time, should I be the one apologizing?

It looks reasonable to many of us, students, how a majority left for MAT 213 class without adequately notifying Dr. Ismail. Report is that he's really furious at our display of attitude today and will be exacting punishments as he see fit. 💔🤦‍♂️

I understand it's the pressure from the MAT lecturer. And even after leaving that early, many were still shut out of the MAT class.🤦‍♂️ but this is really not a justifiable reason to disrespect Dr. Ismail while in class💔🤦‍♂️

Suggestion of a collaborative apology was made , let us all go to telegram to apologize. Telling him "That it's as a result of pressure from the MAT lecturer".

As for me, I never did apologize to anybody. Because we are the victim in this case. Some did apologize, while some of us stood on our ground and refuse to be cheated.

In a case like this, what could you have done? How do we please these two lecturers. Because this will repeat itself same day next week.
