CONSISTENCY - A KEY TO SUCCESS

Most people fail in their endeavors due to the fact that they are more concerned with the outcome of a situation than the process of getting there. In other words, we're more drawn to outcomes than the process of getting there. You must put in consistent work in order to see results. This is true in every sector of your life, whether it pertains to your work life, family life, or social life.

Similarly, my first desire was to learn an instrument since secondary school but I never got the opportunity. However, now that chance has appeared, I realize it's not what it seems like, every time I carry my guitar, it always seems to be a mountain to climb. I get discouraged whenever I repeat a stage over and over again and it doesn't move in the direction I want it to. Or when I'm under too much pressure to accomplish something and get at least something, when frustration sets in, which later leads to discouragement.

As Anthony Robbins said: “It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently”.

Successful people are consistent that is what leads to their success, they strategies some habits that produce actions which they undergo in their every day life/routine. These habits become a way of life for them and in turn leads to their success.
To achieve a goal, there must be a kind of laid down rules or plan which will be carried out in the daily journey to success and one must be consistent and be steady in carrying out the tasks even if it’s not working out as planned. The struggles are meant to shape the journey not to be discouraged.

Edison's Light Bulb

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." - Thomas Edison

  • Do you know how many attempt Thomas Edison did make to make a significant advance in light bulb design in developing a filament which allowed it to burn for over 1200 hours. 1000 unsuccessful attempt before he creates his first lightbulb. It was that design that was later put into mass production. SOURCE
But with consistency and the desire to never give up he and his team successfully achieve their goal.
  • It took Sir James Dyson 5,126 vacuum design attempts before he could get a properly working vacuum. SOURCE

Consistency is crucial to having a successful journey. We may experience defeats, but we should never be defeated. In my opinion, defeat is necessary so that we can discover who we truly are and what we want. No matter how the plan proceeds, we must not give up, whether it is successful or not. We must find a way to make the plan work well, and we must remain steady. Failure should actually be a motivation for our success.
