#WeeklyMotivation : Be a Person of Integrity

As you all know today is another lovely new week and I'm quite sure everyone of you know what I do on new weeks like this. This is actually a part of the week I post motivational content just to brighten your day for the week and I hope you'll definitely feel motivated after reading this.

Today's Lesson

I could remember attending graduate convocation program organized by my school for recent graduates (2019 and 2020 set) and it was really a great pleasure to take part in such an excellent event.

During the event, the guest lecturer speech lecture was mainly focused on being a man of integrity and this is why he is popularly known as Mr Integrity. I really felt motivated after listening to his lecture during the convocation program and I must say this is one of the best lecture I have ever attended so far. I will be sharing some of the important lessons i learnt from his words with you and I hope this will also impact you positively just like i also got inspired too.

What does it mean for someone to have Integrity?

Having or possessing integrity isn't just a common habit you can find amongst people. The fact is that in a room consisting of 200 occupants or people, there's high chance that only 5 - 10% of them may posses some level of integrity because integrity is a very scarce and rare habit amongst humans in the world we live today.

This is one of the reasons Bob Marley once stated that "the greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively".

Most of us do always have the doctrine or mindset that integrity is all about being honest and having moral principles but this doesn't only defines integrity. According to Oprah Winfrey, she defined integrity has "doing the right thing, knowing that nobody’s going to know whether you did it or not.”.

This is really one of the very best definition i will adopt when defining integrity as it simply explains doing the right thing irrespective of wherever you may find yourself.

The Big Question

Have you ever thought of asking yourself the following this big question before you can conclude to be a person of integrity.

The fact is that we all know what is right and we also do know what is wrong. It's also very interesting to have people with different professions or jobs reading this post at this moment. I just hope you won't say you are also a person of Integrity if you are the type that engage in fraudulent activities and cheating others at your workplace. And i also hope you won't affirm that you are a person of integrity if all you do is to keep telling lies and deceiving people just to earn from them and lastly you can never affirm that you are a person of integrity if as a writer you engage in plagiarism without making any reference to original content creator(s).

We all know how we behave in our daily lives most especially in our workplace or when dealing with people. I'm quite sure we both know what is right and what is wrong at this stage of our lives. I will leave you to answer the big question which is quoted below and I'm sure you'll be able to judge yourself from your answers. The question goes below;

Am I really truly doing what is right whenever I am in seclusion (when no one is watching) and publicly (when everyone is watching) ?

The ball is now in your court and the big question is left there for you to ponder or think about. If you really feel you are a person of integrity, then keep it up but if your answer is otherwise, then try as much as possible to become a person of integrity.
