A Visit to the Chocolate Museum!
My school holidays expeditions continued with a morning well-spent at the Chocolate Museum.
Location: 2, Jalan Teknologi 3/5, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Opening hours: 10am to 430pm everyday
This is a place that I actually did not know about but the app Xiao Hong Shu has given me many ideas of places to go. This holidays, I am aiming at affordable places with entrance fees less than RM10 per pax or better still, free entrance!
One of the #gems is this Chocolate Museum.
We arrived at about 1030am I guess and my nephews and brother-in-law joined us for this visit too. My husband was on a rare Monday off could come along too.
The Museum is divided into 2 parts.
Chocolate Museum 1.0
The first part is more on some history of how chocolates were made and introduced to the world. Apparently, Chocolate as a beverage was introduced when Louis XIII married a princess Anne of Austria, daughter of Phillip II of Spain. The Queen was passionate about chocolate and since then, there were chocolate parties! How fun!
We were touring the part 1 of Museum and suddenly it ended. Not yet satisfied, we went to buy tickets of RM5 per pax to the Musuem 2.0, which is just next door.

We went out of the door and entered the part 2 of the Museum through another door next to the first part.
Here we see the history of different known brands such as the Tobelorone, M&Ms, Kit Kats and so on.
Our Malaysian renowned Twin Towers was also built in chocolate here and it was quite a sight. There are portraits of our former prime minister and his wife assembled using M&Ms too. Beside it was a bench mimicking the Kit Kat bar and a place of optical illusion.
Next to this place was mirrors of all kinds of optical illusions where we suddenly look like we have extra long legs or some funny mirrors that made us look like we have big feet. It was hilarious and the children enjoyed this place a lot.
Viewing chocolate in making
At 11am there was a chocolate making session, so we went to their kitchen with a display to watch how chocolate is tempered and poured into their moulds to be chilled. There were 2 friendly personnel's who patiently explained to us and even let us taste the chocolate pieces made. The children were so excited for this.
Shopping for Chocolates
Last but not least, of course there is a shop here selling chocolates. I bought 5 bars of chocolates for RM32 because there is a buy 1 free 1 promotion! What a deal! My husband who knew I like Whittakers brand also bought me a bar of chocolate with almond for RM29! Happy me!
So it was a short visit but quite a contented one as we all left with chocolates. I mean guess who were the happiest? I think all of us! Hahaha. I mean though it is nothing close to Charlie and His Chocolate Factory but this is the closest we could get! Who doesn't like chocolate?
