Nonplanetary Landscape - works after 2000

The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well,
on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear
fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously
some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be.

I'm studying the scale of that and trying to work out how the view would look as someone just walking along any given part of the landscape, and how normal it would be knowing that they live on a torus to be looking up into the sky and seeing someone else's ground, and if they live on that side of the torus how weird it would be to head over to the other side and just see stars XD
