'Trimension' - New Original Music - A Random Idea, Using 'Pharlight' Demo - Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough

late night creation that has turned out pretty cool after just 20 or 30 minutes of playing around. It's mostly an accident when these things happen, and the last few days, I haven't been super stoked on anything I wrote. But this, at least for a rough idea, for sure has a lot of potential. I had started with the Pharlight demo, which is that vocal/granular synth plug-in, which is used in both Tracks 2 and 3, which are where we start the song. The basic chord loop is 5 bars long, 1 chord per bar, moving from Dmin, to C, Dmin to C, and Bb, before repeating. My favorite thing here is the drums. I used two kits that I've had for years, both which I think were included in Ableton 9, but for both I added the 'random' MIDI effect, and created what wound up being a really cool, non-repeating pattern. I think it needs some heavier kick sounds, as they're a little thin, but the idea is there, and I'm gonna keep rolling with it. The only MIDI instrument actually left is Track 6, which is, of course, a ROLI preset. Everything else was bounced to audio, either because it was a demo plug-in, or the randomized drums so I had a set pattern, not changing every time I hit record. I also added an 808 from 808 Warfare which provides the bassline in Track 1. Overall, a bit too repetitive, but I think with some cool filters, and a break, this could be a solid tune!
