'Tiny Beat' - New Original Music - A Quick 10 Minute (Plus a Little Cheating Time) Timed Challenge - Electronic/Instrumental

last night so I set a ten minute timer, and tried to get as many tracks as possible, with the rule of trying to make a legitimate progression, and avoid any copy-pasta to fill in tracks. I managed to get the first 4 done in that time, though the last 2 were after the fact, as I was just playing around with this while watching some TV before bed. Track 1 uses PianoTeq 7, and outlines the progression pictured below. Basically we move from an F#min7add11 to an Amaj7. Track 2 is the drums, using the '32 Pad Kit Special', included in one of the free packs from Ableton. This is a realistic sampled kit, and plays a basic beat, though I did spend like 4 full minutes just messing with the ride pattern, adjusting velocities and pulling some of the behind the beat to give it that swing, without using any actual groove settings (I like using these, but they're very regimented, when you do it manually you can get some more interesting variation with each individual hit). I also added Thermal to the drums to get an interesting distortion (Track 1 also uses it, for a LoFi effect). Track 3 uses the 'Funk Bass', including with the Komplete Start package from Native Instruments, and plays the Green portion of the image above to the right. Track 4 plays the Blue part, and uses a Marimba sound from Hybrid Keys II. Tracks 5 and 6 are the later additions, and provide very limited, single note lines, with 5 using a Hybrid Keys II sound, and Track 6 a LABS synth pad. Overall, not the most exciting idea, but it may be a good jumping off point, so I'll play around with it and see what happens.
