'ReLak' - New Original Music - Some Changes to Yesterday's Idea - Electronic/Instrumental

a bit more, changing a few things which I think definitely helped. First off, I removed the swing groove from all of the kick/snare patterns which made a big difference in the overall vibe, and gives the song more of a drive and less of that off-kilter feeling which didn't work as well with the 16th note hi-hats. I added some variations to the bass part, including the part pictured below, in addition to adding a bass line over the break section. The horns over that break also now have a pretty heavy Thermal distortion/effect on them, which made them significantly more interesting than the dry horn sound. I also warped the little twinkly melody in Track 15 to fit on beat a bit better, and added some little transitional sounds in Track 16 which just add some weird little effects between each 3 bar repetition of the main progression. There were also a bunch of small things done like altering levels, panning, reverb, delay, etc. Overall, these changes helped quite a bit I think and I'm much happier with this version than yesterday's, so I'll keep messing around with this and see where things go. Maybe I'll sit on this for a day or two and revisit it with fresh ears.
