'Impaction' - New Original Music - Taking a Little Break from Yesterday's Idea - Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough

orchestral ideas/posts of the last few days, and just clear my head and do something electronic; this idea is far from a finished song, more just a cluster of various sounds I liked, but I think there is potential here, so it'll be something I revisit for sure. I had started with drums, which play a really basic beat, though the hats are generally slightly behind the beat, giving it a bit of a dragging quality. I then outlined a basic idea, Bmin to Amaj7 to Emin, but added some little moves in between (the first half of the image below), which is our A part, and the B part (the second half below) moves from A to B to an F, to E, and finally an A quartal thing (just 3 stacked 4ths). This second half is a little... weird? Wonky? I'm not sure yet how I feel about it... it's cool in a strange way but I dunno if that vibe fits with the previous progression, so maybe I'll try a new version without this, and build something more diatonic like the first half. Track 5 added a synth bass, and everything else just small little single note parts, filling things in with various pads and other sounds. Some of these probably will make the cut, but I'll try and removing some, adding others, see where things go. While I don't love this idea currently, I can tell there is something cool here, so it'll take a little carving away to find it, then hopefully have something more complete to share soon!
