Back to the Outback | My impressions and review of the film

Hello, hello, inveterate cinephiles.

I thought about doing this post last Tuesday, the same day I enjoyed the movie I'm going to review for you, but unfortunately, other things came up along the way that didn't allow me to do so, but here we go, it's never too late.

A brief dialogue I heard in the Netflix promotional shorts and a curious meme that the same Netflix people shared on their Instagram account, made me feel so identified with one of the characters that I obviously wanted to see the movie right away. A koala of tender and kind appearance confesses: "I am Capricorn, I hate everyone", hahaha that gave me a lot of laughter.

Hola, hola, cinéfilos empedernidos.

Pensé hacer esta publicación el pasado martes, el mismo día en el que disfruté la película que les voy a reseñar, pero lamentablemente en el camino surgieron otras cosas que no me lo permitieron, pero aquí vamos, nunca es tarde.

Un breve diálogo que escuché en los cortos promocionales de Netflix y un curioso meme que la misma gente de Netflix compartió en su cuenta de Instagram, me hicieron sentir tan identificada con uno de los personajes que obvio la quise ver la película de inmediato. Un koala de apariencia tierna y amable confiesa: “soy Capricornio, odio a todo el mundo”, jajaja eso me dio mucha risa.

I am of the Capricorn sign, I do not hate everyone, although it seems hahaha, but I am very jealous to open my feelings to anyone, perhaps for self-protection, for fear of getting hurt, to avoid disappointments, or simply for being part of my nature, I am very selective with the people to whom I give room in my life. I have few friends, but I am a friend of my friends, I faithfully believe in loyalty, reciprocity, and unconditional devotion. However, as a good Capricorn, I usually give another impression, that we are cold people, not very sensitive, ambitious, etc., but the truth is that we are much more sensitive than anyone can think, we tend to take the blame that does not correspond to us, or to bear burdens not so much ours in order to help our own...but shhhh this should not know, where would our fame go? xD

Soy del signo Capricornio, no odio a todo el mundo, aunque parezca jajaja, pero si soy muy celosa de abrir mis sentimientos a cualquiera, tal vez por autoprotección, por miedo a salir herida, por evitarme decepciones, o sencillamente por ser parte de mi naturaleza, soy muy selectiva con las personas a las que le doy cabida en mi vida. Soy de pocos amigos, pero soy amiga de mis amigos, creo fielmente en la lealtad, en la reciprocidad, en la entrega incondicional. Sin embargo, como buena Capricornio suelo dar otra impresión, que somos personas frías, poco sensibles, ambiciosas, etc., pero la verdad, es que somos mucho más sensibles de lo que cualquiera puede llegar a pensar, tendemos a asumir culpas que no nos corresponden, o a llevar a cuesta cargas no tan nuestras con tal de ayudar a los nuestros…pero shhhh esto no debe saber, ¿a dónde iría a para nuestra fama? xD

Well, having clarified why I was so amused by that comment, I will now tell you a little about this movie titled Back to the Outback. In a visited zoo in Australia, a brave beast tamer exhibits daily the most deadly and chilling creatures, generating panic in the audience, who despite admiring the fearful act, prefer to placidly enjoy the laziness of a cute Koala called " Pretty Boy" who is the attraction of the zoo.

Bueno aclarado el por qué me causó tanta gracia ese comentario, paso a comentarles un poco de qué va esta película titulada Back to the Outback. En un concurrido zoológico en Australia un valiente domador de fieras exhibe a diario las más mortíferas y escalofriantes criaturas, generando pánico en la audiencia, quienes a pesar de admirar el temeroso acto prefieren disfrutar plácidamente de las perezas de un tierno Koala llamado “Chico Lindo” que es la atracción del zoo.

Pretty boy, he is the koala I told you about at the beginning, he is a spoiled brat who has everything without doing anything, he is capricious and narcissistic. He represents what everyone loves about the zoo. On the other hand, the lethal creatures that grace the show only receive faces of terror, tears, and repulsion, after all, no one wants to be near one of the deadliest snakes on the planet, accompanied by a scorpion, a spider, and a lizard, all equally lethal in their attack. What no one knows is that these creatures only want to win the public's affection, but knowing that they will not succeed because of their condition, one day they decide to escape from the zoo. On the verge of successfully completing their escape plan, they cross paths with Pretty Boy, and to prevent him from thwarting their mission, they decide to join him in the adventure against his will.

Chico lindo, es el koala del que les hablé al principio, él es un consentido que lo tiene todo sin hacer nada, es caprichoso, y narcisista. El representa lo que todos aman del zoológico. En cambio las criaturas letales que engalanan el show solo reciben caras de terror, llanto y repulsión, después de todo nadie quiere estar cerca de una de las serpientes más mortíferas del planeta, a la que le acompaña un escorpión, una araña y una lagartija, todos igual de letales en su ataque. Lo que nadie sabe es que estas criaturas solo quieren ganarse el cariño del público, pero a sabiendas que no lo lograrán por su condición, un día deciden escapar del zoo. A punto de completar con éxito su plan de fuga se cruzan con Chico Lindo, y para evitar que éste frustre su cometido deciden sumarlo a la aventura en contra de su voluntad.

This escape must lead them to their origins, to the encounter with other members of their species, a place far from the metropolis, their destination: the Australian Outback, imposing red mountains in the farthest region from the urban area of Australia. The journey will not be easy, as the difficult task of getting out of the city to the mountains is compounded by the persecution of the zookeeper and his enthusiastic son. Fortunately, secret societies that support the species most despised by humans will facilitate the long journey.

Ese escape los debe conducir a sus orígenes, al encuentro con otros miembros de su especie, un lugar lejos de la metrópolis, su destino: el Outback australiano, unas imponentes montañas de color rojo en la región más alejada de la zona urbana de Australia. La travesía no será fácil, pues a la difícil tarea de salir de la ciudad hacia las montañas se le suma la persecución del guardián del zoo y su entusiasta hijo. Afortunadamente, sociedades secretas de apoyo a las especies más despreciadas por los humanos les facilitaran el largo viaje.

Already in the heart of the mountains, it will be shown what each of these creatures is made of, friendship, loyalty, family... their true feelings will be put to the test.

Ya en el corazón de las montañas se dejará ver de qué está hecho cada una de estas criaturas, se pondrá a prueba la amistad, la lealtad, la familia...aflorarán sus verdaderos sentimientos.

I was delighted to have seen this movie because it leaves a beautiful message in which it is made clear once again that appearances are deceiving, what really matters is what resides in the heart. True beauty is definitely not in the physical but in the spiritual. If Back to the Outback makes it very clear is that it doesn't matter what others think of you because it is your actions that will prove them wrong, many times we judge others a priori by the mental concept we have of them without having given them the opportunity to truly know them. The story of Maddie (the snake), Pretty Boy (the koala), and the zookeeper teach us, among other things, that when you are truly grateful you learn to forgive and forget. It's worth it when it brings peace to your heart.

Me encantó haber visto esta película, pues deja un mensaje hermoso en el que se deja claro una vez más que las apariencias engañan, lo que realmente importa es lo que reside en el corazón. La verdadera belleza definitivamente no está en lo físico sino en lo espiritual. Si algo deja muy claro Back to the Outback es que no importa lo que piensen otros de ti, pues son tus acciones las que le demostrarán que están equivocados, muchas veces juzgamos a priori a otros por el concepto mental que tenemos de ellos sin haberles dado la oportunidad de conocerlos verdaderamente. La historia de Maddie (la serpiente), Chico Bonito (el koala) y el guardián del zoo, nos enseñan, entre otras cosas, que cuando eres verdaderamente agradecido aprendes a perdonar y a olvidar. Vale la pena cuando eso da paz a tu corazón.

Yes, I loved it, I enjoyed it a lot. I would not hesitate to recommend it for family enjoyment...and if you are Capricorn, you will see yourself on the screen hahaha.

Sí, me encantó, la disfruté mucho. No dudaría en recomendarla para disfrutar en familia…y si eres Capricornio, pues te verás en la pantalla jajaja
