The Wallet That Finally Started Working While I Slept

Though I worked for it for months, still, there's this kind of inner comfort that comes to me when I know there's something in the background that's working for me even though I'm busy with other things. I never knew much about that feeling until I realized that I can be saving my HBD and be collecting monthly interest on it, even though it's just one percent.

Just like a lot of people on this platform who came on board with the mindset of always creating and writing content on my blog. I convert some of my earnings into cash when I need it and continue saving the rest. But thank God I wasn't using all my ten fingers to eat because I was not taking more than what I was collecting, which I can say has been working for me. Though there has been this temptation of “It is your money, you worked for it; why not convert it all?”

Last year, in November, I made a quiet yet bold decision. Instead of always cashing out everything, I decided to put some of my HBD in my wallet savings. It might look small, but it is a very personal agreement and disciplined decision for me, which has been giving me a little interest every month. It's better than just leaving the HBD to sit in my wallet without adding value to it, and I might even be more tempted to spend it. And just in a couple of days, I'm expecting another interest. That quietness was the thing that changed how I think.

Though I still convert some of my HBD when need be, I use it for another purpose. Because I have my own real life, it requires too much. The way I now see my savings account doesn't look like a backup account that is waiting to be drained. I am now leaving it to grow even though the current price of Hive is so frustrating and it's draining my account without me touching it, but there is a slow growth…very slow without pressure. Because in an economy where everything looks outrageously expensive, money doesn't really hold much value again. Because it disappears faster, the best thing to do is for me to put some of my HBD in my savings and let it grow while I sleep. Isn't that rare and good enough?
