Hello guys, welcome to my blog once again, it's so nice to have you around, it's yet another interesting hive learners community weekly challenge, the 50th week and second edition. With the topic Opportunity lost and opportunity found.
Opportunity as we all know can be referred to as a chance or situation presented to make us achieve a goal or success on a particular thing we desire. I believe in life, we humans will always be presented with an opportunity at one point or another, sometimes we grab them, and other times it slips probably due to not being prepared at the time.
I have been faced with several opportunities at some points in my life and I will share with us how it went for me, starting with an opportunity I lost some years back.
Like I've regularly stated in some of the previous posts I used to work a normal 8 am - 8 pm job that gave less time for myself and my family, I was always working round the clock, and never had the time to discover more of myself or any other thing than the job I did. On one faithful day, I received a message from one of my old time highschool mates, my bestie actually, she had traveled out Of the country the previous year and was lucky to have gotten herself a good paying job almost immediately, in the content of the message, she wanted to invest a huge sum of money she gathered and asked if I had plans of any business I could do that will yield income for both of us because I was so invested in my job and scared of starting something I wasn't sure of, I had to turn down the offer sadly 😔, thinking about it now, if given that same opportunity, I would not even think twice, there are lots of things I know now and also discovered over the years that if presented with it again, I will grab it fast without a second thought. Life goes on anyway as I am no longer where I use to be.
Opportunity Found
Just like the quote at the beginning of this post by the greatest Albert Einstein, "in the middle of difficulty, create an opportunity", that was my story, in the year 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic put the whole world and everything on lockdown, not going to work, things became difficult for everyone, but that was when I became free of the shackles of my old job, I went on to find myself and then, my journey into the fashion world began, I used that period to learn the art of fashion designing, did lots of practice, online learning, I watched endless YouTube tutorial videos, joined online classes and since then it has been of great help to me, I now earn more as a fashion designer than I did in my previous job, I work at my own time and space, I still get time to discover and work on other things, just like being on this wonderful platform.
As humans, it's always necessary for us to be prepared at all times because we don't know the time an opportunity will come knocking. It might seem to be a difficult moment, but create something positive out of it. Improve that skill you've been thinking about, get that certification, and go out of your comfort zones sometimes and you will be glad you did.

Absolutely right. You have to be conscious of any opportunity, we don’t just have to soak ourselves up in our present situation.

Being conscious that opportunity is bound to present itself at any given time should make us not give up on our present condition and keep pushing.

We all made a mistake by not grabbing an opportunity when we had the chance.
you miss such a big opportunity when someone invests some money to start a business but one way or another you have to turn down that great opportunity, of course the feeling of regret is so great, on the other hand you get another golden opportunity and you maximize it so well ,
Yes, I did felt bad but created another opportunity when it seemed to be a difficult time.

Opportunity comes like wind, if not quickly grabbed, if flies away to the unknown, so it's norma to miss out on some just like you did with the one your friend offered you.
It's such a delight to know the pandemic left a positive impact on you, has us use the opportunity to learn the art of sewing.
Believe me with how good you're, I use to think you've learnt for several years before the pandemic.

Yeah, I learnt about opportunity being like a wind the hard way, better prepared now in case of a next time hopefully.

Hmmm!!! I love the last part, we miss good opportunities sometimes because we are not prepared. It is not good enough to have a skill, improve it, work more on it and be perfect at it, for you know not when an opportunity will come by. If only you had learnt more about business and have ideas, the first opportunity wouldn't have passed you by. Nevertheless I am glad you made a very good use of the covid lock down to get yourself an opportunity. I love fashion designing a lot, am looking forward to learn it soon
Wow, this was so inspiring to read.
It is very sad when we discover opportunities but have to turn them down because we are not ready. The feeling is the worst. That's why we are advised to work hard on whatever it is that we are doing, so that when an opportunity comes, we are well prepared to utilize it.
As traumatic as the lockdown was for some of us, deep down we needed it. The world was in fast motion, so many things happening at the same time and there was no time to even rest. That lockdown was really needed and I'm glad that you used it to accomplish all that you did.

You shouldn't regret the opportunity your friend gave you because you didn't take it. What if you had invested in something and it didn't work out? She would have thought you have duped her which might ruined your friendship with her.
I am glad you took the lockdown opportunity to acquire a skill, here you are smiling and making money today.
Life is filled with opportunities and they often come with difficulties, but im glad you see them in this way :)
