Good morning everyone,

Happy weekend to us all. Today I want to share with us my recent digital drawing which I titled Aduke. The name is a yoruba name which means "One we eagerly compete to care for". I gave her this name because I want her to remind us the beautiful culture we are loosing and that name is one of the name parents don't name their children with anymore.

In this piece, I want you guys to note some things.

• Firstly, she has this beautiful "Kiko" style on her head which was once a beautiful style but we're rapidly loosing it now. Now it's only common among few children. I thought if this hair is still maintained till date, probably you'd have different colors of rubber thread and so I gave her a golden color of rubber thread.

• Secondly, I want you to note her cowries chain. This is what people use as money in the olden days and it signifies wealth. Today people see it as being ritualistic when they see you wear one. This shouldn't be so, it should be admired and embraced.

• I want us to note her beautiful facial mark which is not hidden underher makeup and the lovely coral red beads dangling from her ear.

Our cultures are widely disappearing and so I created this piece to remind us how beautiful it might be is if we can strive to maintain it.

The drawing was done on photoshop using various brushes. After painting it, I also made a scribble version of the painting and I fused them together to creating this final piece.
