It’s been a while I shared my artworks here. The year has been busy for me, which I am grateful to God for. I’ve had to work on several commissioned paintings, and this particular painting is one of them. It is a piece I worked on a few months ago, and it’s been delivered to the United States already where the client is based. This painting happens to be one of the most challenging works I’ve ever worked on, not because it’s hard to execute, but because my client was a difficult person.

She gave me little time to work with, and being rushed automatically affects me when I work. Eventually, she didn’t even want it delivered at the previously specified time, so I was angry at some point. Why rush me in the first instance? Aside from that, she almost cut out of the bargained payment. Anyway, let me stop ranting now. Was she difficult? Yes. Was the painting worth it? Also yes. I am glad I worked on this piece. That’s because it pushed me out of my comfort zone. Personally, I hate painting clothes because I find them difficult to execute. Now, I had to paint an ankara cloth, which is known for its beautiful prints and patterns. I was scared at first, but I took on the challenge and it came out beautifully.
