When my eyesight betrays me and I think I see a frog [Eng-Esp]
Entre mis hermanos soy la más pequeña, como dicen en mi país la bordona; siempre he sido muy mimada por todos, ya que cuando nací mis hermanos ya estaban grandes, por eso siempre he sido tan consentida. Esa crianza me llevó a ser una persona un tanto delicada en cuestiones de gustos por así decirlo y a pesar de que en mi casa siempre hubo animales como loro, perico, conejo, morrocoy y gatos, yo nunca los llegué a tocar debido a que no sentía esa afinidad con los animales; sin embargo, nunca he llegado a lastimar ningún animal; por el contrario, les doy de comer pero hasta allí.
Among my siblings I am the smallest, as they say in my country the "bordona"; I have always been very spoiled by everyone, because when I was born my brothers were already big, that's why I have always been so spoiled. That upbringing led me to be a somewhat delicate person in matters of taste so to speak and although in my house there were always animals like parrot, parakeet, rabbit, morrocoy and cats, I never got to touch them because I did not feel that affinity with animals; however, I have never hurt any animal; on the contrary, I feed them but that's as far as it goes.
Mis hijos, por el contrario, sientan esa conexión desde pequeños con los animales, aunque no con todos, pero si son más dados con los perros, gatos, peces, aves; en fin, nada que ver con la distancia o barrera para tocar un animal que existe en mí; por supuesto ellos tienen temor a las culebras porque siempre se les ha dicho que están son peligrosas y venenosas por lo que mantienen una alerta constante a esos animales porque la zona donde vivimos es boscosa y por ende salen con frecuencia estos reptiles que incluso se han metido a mi apartamento.
My children, on the other hand, feel that connection with animals since they were little, although not with all of them, but they are more fond of dogs, cats, fish, birds; in short, nothing to do with the distance or barrier to touch an animal that exists in me; of course they are afraid of snakes because they have always been told that they are dangerous and poisonous so they keep a constant alert to these animals because the area where we live is wooded and therefore these reptiles come out frequently and have even gotten into my apartment.
Lo malo de ser miope es que a menudo confundimos lo que vemos con otra cosa, es como si la vista distorsionara el objeto y en ocasiones suele ser incómodo. La semana pasada voy de la sala a la cocina para preparar la cena, de pronto veo algo extraño y pequeño sobre el borde del fregador, pero sin acercarme tratando de ver que era se me pareció mucho a una pequeña rana, como le tengo grima a esos animales me regreso a la sala para y le digo a mi hijo menor que busque una bolsa, cuando él viene con la bolsa me entró un enorme miedo por lo que tuve que mandarlo a que le colocara la bolsa al animal de modo que al saltar quedase dentro, pero Cristian al verme tan aterrada se asustó también.
The bad thing about being nearsighted is that we often confuse what we see with something else, it is as if the view distorts the object and sometimes it is often uncomfortable. Last week I go from the living room to the kitchen to prepare dinner, suddenly I see something strange and small on the edge of the sink, but without approaching trying to see what it was it looked like a small frog, as I am afraid of those animals I go back to the living room and tell my youngest son to look for a bag, when he comes with the bag I got a huge fear so I had to send him to put the bag to the animal so that when jumping it would stay inside, but Cristian seeing me so terrified got scared too.
Nos comunicamos con mi hijo mayor por WhatsApp quien se encontraba en la habitación, cuando Héctor venía por el pasillo le hice señas que hiciera silencio, cuando yo le hago esa seña él se asusta pensando que era un ladrón por lo que llegó hasta la sala caminando en la punta de los pies, al llegar junto a mí le hice seña de que observara el fregador, pero él no entendía por lo que tuve que hablar; claro yo quería mantener el silencio para que la rana no se moviera del lugar. En cuanto le dije que era una rana, él pensó en acercarse, pero yo no se lo permitía, los nervios se apoderaron de mí y no sé ni la razón, en ese estira y encoge estuvimos unos minutos hasta que recordé una vara para agarrar limón que está en el apartamento, dicho objeto tiene un palo de cepillo y al final un envase plástico de mayonesa lo que permite que los limones entren sin caer al piso.
We communicated with my eldest son by WhatsApp who was in the room, when Hector came down the hall I signaled him to be quiet, when I do that sign he gets scared thinking he was a thief so he came to the living room walking on tip toe, when he got next to me I signaled him to watch the scrubber, but he did not understand so I had to talk; of course I wanted to keep quiet so that the frog did not move from the place. As soon as I told him that it was a frog, he thought about approaching, but I did not allow him to do so, the nerves took over me and I do not even know the reason, in that stretch and shrink we were a few minutes until I remembered a stick to grab lemon that is in the apartment, this object has a brush stick and at the end a plastic container of mayonnaise which allows the lemons to enter without falling to the floor.
Mi pensado fue que Héctor tomase la vara y atrapara la rana, por lo que él tomó la herramienta y se la colocó encima al animal, mi otro hijo le decía que se mantuviese allí porque si movía el envase la rana caería al piso, el muchacho estuvo unos minutos sosteniendo la vara hasta que se le soltó y quedó en el piso, vi claramente cuando el animalito saltó hacia la cocina por lo que salí corriendo y me monte encima del brazo del mueble. Mis hijos se acercaron para ver donde estaba la rana y cuando llegaron cerca resulta que no era ningún animal, era solo una pequeña hoja de orégano que quedó sobre el fregador.
My thought was for Hector to take the stick and catch the frog, so he took the tool and put it on top of the animal, my other son told him to stay there because if he moved the container the frog would fall to the floor, the boy was holding the stick for a few minutes until it came loose and was left on the floor, I saw clearly when the animal jumped towards the kitchen so I ran out and got on top of the arm of the cabinet. My children came closer to see where the frog was and when they got closer it turned out that it was not an animal at all, it was just a small oregano leaf that was left on the sink.
Cuando mis hijos me dicen eso fui a ver y al observar me dio un ataque de risas, reí hasta más no poder, tanto que después me dolía la barriga y esa noche cada vez que me acordaba me reí de lo tonta que fui por ver algo que no era cierto, me dio pena con mis hijos porque los hice pasar por toda esa locura, pero esas son cosas que pasan cuando uno es miope.
When my children told me that I went to see and when I watched I had a fit of laughter, I laughed so much that afterwards my stomach hurt and that night every time I remembered I laughed at how silly I was for seeing something that was not true, I felt sorry for my children because I made them go through all that madness, but those are things that happen when you are myopic.

Ja,ja,ja de verdad ser miope es algo serio, me pasaba al parar el transporte, cuando venía cerca me percataba que no era mi ruta y bueno recibía la respectiva mención que me hacía recordar a mi madre. Ja.ja,ja imagine toda la escena y las risas también. Un gran abrazote @giocondina.
