Había estado pensando en cuanto al tema de las alergias , pero no había tenido ningún incidente muy llamativo como para compartir , entonces asumí que no tenía nada que decir.
I had been thinking about the subject of allergies, but had not had any very striking incidents to share, so I assumed I had nothing to say.
Hasta que ayer, estando en el frente de la casa, mientras que khael paseaba en bicicleta , se cayó , golpeandose el brazo , entonces llegó llorando hacia mí, y lo comencé a revisar ,por si acaso se había dado algún golpe mayor en otra parte del cuerpo.
Until yesterday, when I was in front of the house, while khael was riding his bike, he fell, hitting his arm, so he came crying to me, and I started to check him, just in case he had a major blow to another part of his body.
Cuando lo estaba revisando me di cuenta, que tenía una erupción que estaba comenzando ,en su estómago y sus piernas y no habia pasado ni cinco minutos que lo note ,cuando le empezó a picar y a tornarse rojizo . Él comenzó a desesperarse, porque iba en aumento la picazon y el ardor y ademas se iba extendiendo rapidamente por toda la piel .
When I was looking at him I noticed that he had a rash starting on his stomach and legs, and it hadn't even been five minutes that I noticed it, when it started to itch and turn reddish. He started to get desperate, because the itching and burning was increasing and it was spreading rapidly all over his skin.
Enseguida me di cuenta que era un cuadro alergico , ya que a una vecina le había pasado algo similar , como consecuencia de los pelos de La palometa peluda.
I immediately realized that it was an allergic condition, since a neighbor had had something similar happen to her, as a consequence of the hairs of the hairy palometa.
La palometa peluda es un tipo de mariposa que posee pelos en sus alas y qué causa una reacción sumamente alérgica , originando erupción en la piel ,vómitos, conjuntivitis y en casos muy graves, hasta la muerte por asfixia por bloqueo del tracto respiratorio.
The hairy pigeon is a type of butterfly that has hair on its wings and causes a highly allergic reaction, causing skin rash, vomiting, conjunctivitis and in very severe cases, even death by asphyxia due to blockage of the respiratory tract.
En el estado donde vivo en Venezuela , estamos en alerta, debido a un brote de palometas qué ha estado afectando a toda la ciudad y causando zozobra en la población.
In the state where I live in Venezuela, we are on alert, due to an outbreak of pigeonflies which has been affecting the entire city and causing anxiety in the population.

Cuándo vi esto normalmente me asusté ,pero trate de reaccionar rápido así que corrimos dentro de la casa y enseguida le quité toda la ropa a mi hijo, por si acaso los pelos del animal estaban en su ropa , le di una dosis pediatrica de su antialérgico de acuerdo a su peso y tamaño ( conozco la dosis debido a que la pediatra en situaciones anteriores me la había indicado), luego de tomar la dosis , lo meti en la ducha a bañarse y duro un buen rato bañándose , para atenuar un poco la picazón con el agua cayendo sobre su piel.
When I saw this I usually got scared ,but I tried to react fast so we ran inside the house and I immediately took off all my son's clothes, just in case the animal hairs were on his clothes , I gave him a pediatric dose of his anti-allergic according to his weight and size ( I know the dose because the pediatrician in previous situations had indicated it to me ), after taking the dose , I put him in the shower to take a bath and he lasted a good while bathing , to attenuate a little the itching with the water falling on his skin.
Para ese momento ,todavía aún bañándose seguía con la picazón de una manera desesperante, así que continúe bañándolo para refrescarlo.Al salir del baño lo sequé y le aplique alcohol en la piel,y ustedes me preguntarán que si lloro; les dire que SI , muchisimo , pero sabia que una forma de calmar el ardor y la picazon de forma definitiva era aplicando alcohol , asi que lo hice y al momento lloro , pero luego se le fue calmando.
By that time, still bathing, he was still itching in a desperate way, so I continued bathing him to refresh him.When I got out of the bath I dried him and applied alcohol on his skin, and you may ask me if he cried; I will tell you that he did, very much, but I knew that one way to calm the burning and itching definitely was to apply alcohol, so I did it and at the moment he cried, but then he calmed down.
Para cuando lo vesti , la picazon se le habia pasado un poco , y entre sollozos quedo dormido entre mis brazos , duro alrededor de dos horas durmiendo y cuando desperto ya solo quedaba el mal recuerdo de una reacción alergica.
By the time I dressed him, the itching had gone a little, and between sobs he fell asleep in my arms, he slept for about two hours and when he woke up there was only the bad memory of an allergic reaction.

SURPRISE
Las reacciones alergicas suelen actuar de este modo cuando no hay un patrón de alergias previas, causándonos sorpresas y sustos inesperados . Es por esto que es vital y de suma importancia la manera en la cual reaccionamos , ya que puede salvar una vida.
Allergic reactions usually act this way when there is no pattern of previous allergies, causing unexpected surprises and scares. This is why it is vital and of utmost importance the way in which we react, as it can save a life.
Tenemos que estar sumamente atentos en cuanto a la evolución de la alergia debido a que puede ser leve o grave . Y no debemos esperar que se agrave la situación para tomar las medidas necesarias cómo primer Auxilio podemos dar un antialérgico si vemos que la situación aún es controlable, pero si la persona tiene ganas de vomitar o va cambiando de tonalidad , entonces debemos acudir de forma rápida , a un especialista , ya que esté le podrá suministrar oxígeno si es necesario, algún Broncoexpansor para facilitar la respiración o algún corticoesteroides para ayudar con inflamación , solo el especialista podría indicar que corresponde en cada caso según el considere su gravedad .
We must be extremely attentive to the evolution of the allergy because it can be mild or severe. And we should not wait for the situation to worsen to take the necessary measures as first aid we can give an antiallergic if we see that the situation is still controllable, but if the person feels like vomiting or is changing tone, then we must go quickly to a specialist, as this may provide oxygen if necessary, some Bronchoexpander to facilitate breathing or some corticosteroids to help with inflammation, only the specialist could indicate that corresponds in each case as he considers its severity.
Así que debemos estar sumamente atentos a las reacciones que pueda originar un cuadro alérgico para poder tomar las medidas necesarias y que quede solo como un mal recuerdo.
So we must be extremely attentive to the reactions that may cause an allergic condition to be able to take the necessary measures and that it remains only as a bad memory.

Wow, menos mal la alergia no pasó a mayores, me imagino a Khael todo desesperado y más a ti. No conocía sobre esa mariposa, investigaré al respecto.
Si de verdad fue muy desesperante , pero gracias a Dios no paso de un susto . la palometa peluda es muy peligrosa para adultos y niños , asi que mucho ojo, porque es muy en comun en suramerica .
Es desesperante verlos en esas situaciones, porque en ocasiones no saben describir lo que sienten y la forma de drenar es llorando. Lo importante es mantener la calma y buscar opciones que nos ayuden a ayudarlos.
Si es asi . es muy dificil pero es la unica forma de ayudarlos
