Saludos y bendiciones querida comunidad de Hive, hoy después de algunos días, les traigo una muestra de Fiesta Tradicional en homenaje a la Cruz de Mayo, es una manifestación del pueblo y nos identifica como venezolanos.

El objetivo principal de esta fiesta en Venezuela y otros países, es rendir tributo a la Naturaleza, agradeciendo la llegada de las lluvias y la prosperidad de las cosechas y los cultivos.

El Velorio de Cruz de Mayo, es una manifestación cultural que existe en nuestro país desde hace mas de ciento cincuenta años. En muchas regiones de Venezuela se conmemora esta manifestación, se celebra durante todo el mes de Mayo, iniciando el 3 de Mayo que es el día de conmemoración donde se preparan altares especiales en honor a la Cruz, en la mayoría de los sectores del país se acostumbra a vestir la cruz, adornarla, montarla en un altar y alumbrarla, se le llama velada cuando es de día y velorio cuando se hace de noche.

Aparte, en la Región Los Llanos, se interpretan Tonos, en la Región Occidental Tonos, Salves, Décimas, Estribillos, en el Oriente del país, se cantan Fulías, Punto de Velorio y Galerón. En la región Central, está la presencia netamente afrovenezolana con la ejecución de las Tamboritas de Fulía en algunos sitios se toca la Tambora y el Cumaco, son cantos netamente devocionales, dedicados a la Cruz de Mayo a la vida y pasión y muerte de Jesús, entre otros, y aunque estos géneros son muy movidos y rítmicos, por respeto a la Cruz no se puede bailar.

Los instrumentos utilizados en el oriente del país en los Estados Sucre, Anzoátegui, Monagas y Nueva Esparta, son el cuatro, la mandolina o bandolín, bandola, guitarra. También se puede apreciar lo que llaman la cola del velorio o rabo de velorio con la presencia del Joropo, agregando el tambor cuadrado, marímbola (bajo de caja), maracas y el acordeón. A esto se le suma la gastronomía, donde se reparten bebidas, dulces criollos, la sopa o el sancocho.

La música, los instrumentos, los rezos, la comida y demás elementos varían de acuerdo a la localidad de pueblo en pueblo. En la mayoría de los cantos a la Cruz de Mayo, está la presente la Poesía en forma de Décima Espinela o décima perfecta, esta llegó a Venezuela para quedarse por los años 1581 a través de Don Vicente Espinel. Les dejo un ejemplo por aquí, es una estrofa de diéz versos octosílabos, consta de diez lineas o diez versos, generalmente se cantan 40 versos en total, cada estrofa recibe el nombre de pie de décima en total son 4 estrofas, ejemplo:

Ya llegó Mayo florido
es el mes de la abundancia
donde ofrecemos constancia
y estamos agradecidos
por eso nunca me olvido
de cantar a la Cruz bendita
durante el mes es la cita
para continuar sembrando
mi canto representando
por nuestra patria bonita

Asimismo, comparto fotos al inicio del post de evento realizado el día de ayer, 14 de mayo de 2022, realizado en las inmediaciones de la Plaza Bolívar de Caracas, donde pude disfrutar con algunos cultores, músicos y Maestros de la Cultura que hacen vida en la ciudad. Por otra parte, es interesante observar que cada día hay un aumento significativo de personas que se suman al mantenimiento y preservación del Patrimonio Cultural Intangible, como son nuestras manifestaciones folclóricas, es muy importante que nuestros niños y adolescentes conozcan y se identifiquen con las diferentes manifestaciones que los conectan con sus raices.

The Velorio de Cruz de Mayo, is a cultural manifestation that has existed in our country for more than one hundred and fifty years.
