Saludos hivers. Por aquí seguimos practicando y aprendiendo para mejorar mis habilidades. Hoy me provocó dibujar un retrato así que los invito a disfrutar de este proceso creativo lleno de colores cálidos inspirados en un soleado día de verano 🌊🌞.

Hello hivers. Here I am again continuing to practice and learn to improve my skills. Today, I felt like drawing a portrait, so I invite you to enjoy this creative process filled with warm colors inspired by a sunny summer day 🌊🌞.

El día de hoy mis materiales fueron cartulina de construcción, lápiz blanco, creyones óleo pastel y lápices de colores. La cartulina que utilicé es de color rojo así que hice el boceto con un lápiz blanco para que se viera bien.

Today, my materials were construction paper, a white pencil, oil pastels, and colored pencils. The construction paper I used is red, so I created the sketch with a white pencil so it would show up clearly.

En este retrato los protagonistas serán los colores cálidos, amarillo, anaranjado y rojo. Empecé coloreando las zonas más iluminadas con blanco y amarillo, agregué anaranjado para los tonos medios.

In this portrait, the protagonists will be warm colors, yellow, orange, and red. I started by coloring the brightest areas with white and yellow, then added orange for the mid-tones.

Esta chica tiene un maquillaje intenso, para lograr el efecto metalizado que tenía en mente utilicé varios colores empezando con verde limón, azul celeste, verde oscuro y azul oscuro. El resultado realmente me impresionó.

This girl is wearing bold makeup, to achieve the metallic effect I had in mind, I used several colors, starting with lime green, sky blue, dark green, and dark blue. The result really impressed me.

Seguidamente coloreé las cejas y las pestañas con lápices marrón y negro. También agregué un poquito más de azul a la sombra de ojos.

Next, I colored the eyebrows and eyelashes with brown and black pencils. I also added a little more blue to the eyeshadow.

Llegó el turno de los labios, elegí un tono discreto como lo es el rosa claro ya que el protagonista de este retrato es el maquillaje de los ojos. También coloreé el brazo y la mano, y con negro coloreé el vestido, la pañoleta y el zarcillo (arete).

Next came the lips, I chose a subtle shade like soft pink since the eye makeup is the focal point of this portrait. I also colored the arm and hand, and used black for the dress, the headscarf, and the earring.

Para hacer el sombreado final usé la teoría del color, esta me indica que el opuesto del rojo es el verde así que lo utilicé en parte del rostro, la mano y el cuello para darle un toque más realista.

For the final shading, I used color theory, it indicates that the opposite of red is green, so I applied it to parts of the face, the hand, and the neck to add a more realistic touch.

Por último, elegí el azul celeste para darle color al fondo, esto le dió un efecto muy veraniego y acentuó la calidez de todo el retrato. ¿Qué les parece el resultado final?

Finally, I chose sky blue for the background, this created a very summery feel and accentuated the warmth of the entire portrait. What do you think of the final result?
