The "Palma Llanera" is a very common plant in Venezuela, especially, and as its name indicates, in the peasant and flat land area of the country.

It is considered an indomitable and almost indestructible species because it withstands very high temperatures when under direct sunlight for six months, as well as being under water for another six months. Why is this? Well, because when it is winter season in our tropical climate, the surface of the plain is flooded with water either from rain or from overflowing rivers or lagoons, reaching these elegant palms.

And just this allows it to fulfill one of its functions, which is to serve as a reservoir for much of the water that accumulates in the rainy season, because in drought (summer) around it we will see grass and it will remain standing giving shade to livestock, bringing as a consequence health and welfare for these animals.

On one of my walks to the plains, when I was on vacation at Christmas, I passed near this small palm grove that welcomed us for a while with its shade and we rested for a few minutes from the cruel sun that, without any nebulous filter, wrapped us without any compassion.

I hope you enjoy this oasis of shade that I bring you today through @liketu and for the whole #Hive blockchain.

Thanks for your visit to my blog.
