(ESP-ENG) Review Series: The Last Of Us (episode 6 with spoilers | episodio 6 con spoilers)
Hola amantes del cine y la televisión en hive, hoy una vez más les comparto mi opinión sobre el sexto episodio de la serie basada en el videojuego, The Last Of Us y si aún no lo han visto pues los invito a hacerlo ya que hablaré con spoilers en este post. Espero les guste y los invito a leerme! 🎬✨
Hello movie and TV lovers in hive, today once again I share with you my opinion about the sixth episode of the series based on the video game, The Last Of Us and if you haven't seen it yet then I invite you to do so as I will talk with spoilers in this post. I hope you like it and I invite you to read me! 🎬✨
Con un recordatorio de lo que ocurrió en el episodio anterior nos muestran de nuevo a Henry luego de haber matado a Sam, el cual había sido mordido por un infectado y luego de esto Henry decide quitarse la vida, luego volvemos a Joel y Ellie quienes se encuentra en camino a Wyoming para buscar al hermano de Joel, Tommy. A pesar de que entraron a una cabaña habitada por unos ancianos no lograron conseguir ninguna pista sobre el paradero de Tommy más que la frase "el que cruza el río de la muerte termina muerto" haciendo que Joel tenga un ataque de pánico al salir y aunque pareciera que éste no está afectado por los sucesos anteriores se muestra como está agotado y cansado.
Un inicio de episodio lleno de grandes paisajes, llenos de vegetación y nieve ya que están en invierno, además de mostrarnos una faceta diferente de Joel mostrando su ansiedad y ataques de pánico al pensar que Tommy pueda estar muerto, haciéndolo ver como lo que sigue siendo, un ser humano.
With a reminder of what happened in the previous episode we are shown Henry again after having killed Sam, who had been bitten by an infected and after this Henry decides to take his own life, then we return to Joel and Ellie who are on their way to Wyoming to look for Joel's brother Tommy. Although they enter a cabin inhabited by some old people they don't manage to get any clue about Tommy's whereabouts other than the phrase "he who crosses the river of death ends up dead" causing Joel to have a panic attack when they leave and although it seems that he is not affected by the previous events he is shown to be exhausted and tired.
A beginning of the episode full of great landscapes, full of vegetation and snow since they are in winter, besides showing us a different side of Joel showing his anxiety and panic attacks at the thought that Tommy may be dead, making him look like what he still is, a human being.
El sexto episodio titulado "Parentesco " se estrenó el domingo 19 de febrero a las 10 pm (Venezuela) tanto en los canales HBO cómo en su plataforma HBOMAX y cuenta con una duración de 58 minutos. Este episodio se centra principalmente en el encuentro entre Tommy y Joel, en donde llegan a una gran comunidad donde son recibidos e invitados a quedarse pero Joel tiene otros planes, quiere terminar su promesa a Tess pero siente que en cualquier momento morir y no podrá llevar a ellie a las luciérnagas.
Regresando otra vez en este episodio el personaje de Tommy (interpretada por Gabriel Luna) el hermano de Joel, nuestros protagonistas Joel (Pedro Pascal) y Ellie (Bella Ramsey) y nuevas apariciones así como de el actor Graham Greene y de la actriz Elaine Miles quienes no tienen un nombre dentro de la serie debido a su corta participación, se nos une también la actriz Rutina Wesley en el papel de la esposa de Tommy Miller y también una de las líderes del consejo de sobrevivientes que vive en Jackson, Wyoming.
The sixth episode titled "Kin" premiered on Sunday, February 19 at 10 pm (Venezuela) on both HBO channels and its platform HBOMAX and has a duration of 58 minutes. This episode focuses mainly on the meeting between Tommy and Joel, where they arrive at a large community where they are welcomed and invited to stay but Joel has other plans, he wants to finish his promise to Tess but feels that at any moment he will die and will not be able to take Ellie to the fireflies.
Returning again in this episode the character of Tommy (played by Gabriel Luna) Joel's brother, our protagonists Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and new appearances as well as actor Graham Greene and actress Elaine Miles who do not have a name within the series due to their short participation, we are also joined by actress Rutina Wesley in the role of Tommy Miller's wife and also one of the leaders of the council of survivors who lives in Jackson, Wyoming.
Un episodio bastante cargado emocionalmente en dónde las referencias son algo que no pueden faltar dentro de esta serie y en dónde una vez más vemos que está no es una serie de "zombies" sino es una serie que habla sobre valores, la humanidad, las emociones, la perdida y el amor. Una vez más mostrándonos una forma impecable en cuanto a escenografía y dramatización en las situaciones más duras, en dónde quizás todos pensemos que Joel es un hombre sin miedo pero que es aún peor ya que éste sufre igual solo que lo oculta.
Ver el reencuentro de Joel y Tommy fue completamente emotivo, ver cómo Joel se alegra mucho de ver a su hermano incluso después de que discutieron y se separaron por temas de las luciérnagas y FEDRA demuestra que éste aún se preocupaba mucho por su hermano y que siempre pensaba en el, podemos también ver a un Joel más animado pero esto es solo una fracción de minutos ya que luego tienen que hacer frente a lo que su hermano tiene que decirle.
A very emotionally charged episode where the references are something that can not miss in this series and where once again we see that this is not a series of "zombies" but a series that talks about values, humanity, emotions, loss and love. Once again showing us an impeccable way in terms of scenography and dramatization in the toughest situations, where perhaps we all think that Joel is a man without fear but it is even worse because he suffers the same only that he hides it.
Seeing the reunion of Joel and Tommy was completely emotional, seeing how Joel is very happy to see his brother even after they argued and separated because of the fireflies and FEDRA shows that he still cared a lot about his brother and always thought about him, we can also see a more animated Joel but this is only a fraction of minutes because then they have to face what his brother has to tell him.
Rodeados de muchísima gente, comida y seguridad, Joel y Ellie se sienten completamente fuera de lugar y a pesar de ello ambos decide aceptar la casa que les ofrece Tommy para prepararse, podemos ver la incomodidad de Ellie y de Joel con Maria, debido a que antes de dejarlos entrar los amenazaron con matarlos, hasta que Tommy les cuenta que es su esposa y que Jackson es ahora su casa. No es hasta que ambos se separan, Joel se va a hablar con Tommy y Ellie con Maria, que las cosas comienzan a complicarse un poco. Podemos ver cómo Joel está molesto por la vida que está teniendo Tommy pero aquí haya algo donde Tommy tiene un poco de razón ya que éste le dice que aunque la vida allá terminado para Joel no quiere decir que también haya terminado para el, haciendo alusión a la muerte de Sarah, ya que Tommy le cuenta que está esperando un bebé con Maria y con esto Joel se marcha molesto del bar, podemos ver que aún existe esa tensión entre ambos ya que vuelven a recordar las cosas que hicieron en el pasado y de las cuales ambos no están orgullosos pero como dice Joel, lo hicieron para sobrevivir, por ello éste está tan molesto de ver como Tommy "pretende" olvidar todo lo ocurrido o quizás está molesto porque éste si pudo avanzar y el aún está estancado en la muerte de su hija.
Surrounded by lots and lots of people, food and security, Joel and Ellie feel completely out of place and despite this they both decide to accept the house that Tommy offers them to get ready, we can see Ellie and Joel's discomfort with Maria, due to the fact that before letting them in they threatened to kill them, until Tommy tells them that she is his wife and that Jackson is now their home. It's not until the two separate, Joel goes to talk to Tommy and Ellie to Maria, that things start to get a little complicated. We can see how Joel is upset about the life Tommy is having but here is something where Tommy is a bit right as Tommy tells him that even though life is over for Joel it doesn't mean it's over for him too, alluding to Sarah's death, as Tommy tells him that he is expecting a baby with Maria and with this Joel leaves the bar upset, We can see that there is still that tension between the two as they remember the things they did in the past and of which both are not proud but as Joel says, they did it to survive, that is why he is so upset to see how Tommy "pretend" to forget everything that happened or maybe he is upset because he could move forward and he is still stuck in the death of his daughter.
Mientras tanto, Ellie se toma un baño y se pone cómoda pero una carta de Maria le indica que ésta la está esperando en su casa a lo que ellie decide ir y hablar con ella. Aquí podemos ver referencias desde el suéter de ellie a los interiores de las casas exactamente iguales a los del juego, una vez más quedo completamente impresionada del nivel de calidad de ésta adaptación al videojuego incluso me siento aún más completa con las explicaciones más profundas y la humanización de nuestros personajes. Ellie se consigue dentro de la casa de Maria un cuadro de madera donde están escritos los nombres de Kevin y Sarah, al hablar con Maria Ellie le comenta que vio el cuadro y que lamenta sus pérdidas pero Maria le revela a Ellie que Sarah era la hija de Joel y aquí es donde ellie comienza a unir lo puntos con respecto al pasado de joel, diciéndole a María que así como Joel mato a personas Tommy también lo había hecho y que a diferencia de que Tommy siguiera a Joel ella era más inteligente.
Aún se pueden ver las asperezas en la forma en la que le habla Ellie a Maria pero podemos ver también que Ellie comienza a comprender más a Joel porque ahora sabe que no solo perdió a Tess sino que también a su hija.
Meanwhile, Ellie takes a bath and makes herself comfortable but a letter from Maria tells her that she is waiting for her at her house so Ellie decides to go and talk to her. Here we can see references from Ellie's sweater to the interiors of the houses exactly the same as in the game, once again I was completely impressed with the level of quality of this adaptation to the video game even I feel even more complete with the deeper explanations and humanization of our characters. Ellie gets inside Maria's house a wooden picture where Kevin and Sarah's names are written, when talking to Maria Ellie tells her that she saw the picture and that she regrets her losses but Maria reveals to Ellie that Sarah was Joel's daughter and here is where Ellie starts to connect the dots regarding Joel's past, telling Maria that just as Joel killed people Tommy had also done it and that unlike Tommy following Joel she was smarter.
You can still see the rough edges in the way Ellie talks to Maria but we can also see that Ellie is beginning to understand Joel more because she now knows that he not only lost Tess but his daughter as well.
Poco a poco se va mostrando más lo que ocurre con Joel, en un viejo granero podemos ver a Joel intentando reparar sus zapatos pero es confrontado por Tommy de nuevo y ésta conversación lleva Joel diciendo la verdad. Le comenta que ellie es inmune y que deben llevarla con las luciérnagas pero el no puede hacerlo, cuenta que siente que cada vez se está quedando sin tiempo, que en cualquier momento no podrá protegerla más y aqui es donde podemos ver que Joel teme, el tiene miedo de fallarle ya que éste no deja de ver a su hija Sarah muriendo por culpa de el, porque le falló. Podemos ver que la relación entre Joel y Ellie es aún más fuerte que nunca debido a que este no quiere perderla, por ello decide que Tommy la lleve con las luciérnagas pero en un cambio repentino Ellie confronta a Joel.
Esta fue una de las mejores escenas y de la cual tenía muchísimas ganas por ver ya que me gustó mucho la emoción y el sentimiento de ella en el videojuego, la forma en la que Troy Baker y Ashley Johnson dramatizan esos sentimientos para luego poder adaptarlos al juego es increíble y HBO se destacó con ella, podemos ver el dolor en los ojos de Joel cuando Ellie le dice que ella no es Sarah, el sabe que ella está a punto de pisar un terreno peligroso ya que éste aún no puede superar la muerte de su hija.
This was one of the best scenes and one that I was really looking forward to seeing as I loved the emotion and feeling of her in the video game, the way Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson dramatize those feelings and then adapt them to the game is amazing and HBO excelled with it, we can see the pain in Joel's eyes when Ellie tells him that she is not Sarah, he knows that she is about to step on dangerous ground as he still can't get over the death of his daughter.
Al final del episodio podemos ver como Ellie se va con Joel a buscar a las luciérnagas a una universidad a unos cuantos kilómetros, podemos ver cómo de nuevo Joel y Ellie se vuelven a unir y éste le enseña a disparar, cada episodio acercándose aún más al final y haciendo que nos sintamos uno con la historia, desafortunadamente no todo es felicidad ya que Joel es herido por un grupo de sobrevivientes y ahora ellie debe encontrar la forma de ayudarlo.
Un episodio cargado de emociones y revelaciones, poco a poco los hilos del pasado se van desatando y podemos ver como esto crea más confianza entre nuestros protagonistas y que destacó por la increíble actuación de nuestros protagonistas. El creador y director de la serie comenta que podemos ver como Joel ya considera a ellie como una hija, podemos ver como sale el pánico de perderla y también podemos ver como éste le enseña a disparar, le enseña a ser más como el, un momento de calma antes de la tormenta.
At the end of the episode we can see how Ellie goes with Joel to look for the fireflies to a university a few miles away, we can see how again Joel and Ellie get together again and he teaches her how to shoot, each episode getting even closer to the end and making us feel one with the story, unfortunately not everything is happiness as Joel is wounded by a group of survivors and now ellie must find a way to help him.
An episode loaded with emotions and revelations, little by little the threads of the past are unraveled and we can see how this creates more trust between our protagonists and which was highlighted by the incredible performance of our protagonists. The creator and director of the series comments that we can see how Joel already considers Ellie as a daughter, we can see how the panic of losing her comes out and we can also see how he teaches her to shoot, teaches her to be more like him, a moment of calm before the storm.
"You're right... You're not my daughter, and i sure as hell ain't your dad. And we are going our separate ways. - Joel"
