(ESP-ENG) Review Series: The Last Of Us (episode 2 with spoilers/ episodio 2 con spoilers)

Hola amantes del cine y la televisión en hive, hoy una vez más les comparto mi opinión sobre el segundo episodio de la serie basada en el videojuego, The Last Of Us y si aún no lo han visto pues los invito a hacerlo ya que hablaré con spoilers en este post. Hello movie and TV lovers in hive, today once again I share with you my opinion about the second episode of the series based on the video game, The Last Of Us and if you haven't seen it yet then I invite you to do so as I will talk with spoilers in this post. Inicio/Beginning

Comenzando el capítulo nos dan de nuevo una introducción al virus pero ésta vez desde el inicio del contagio, en indonesia dónde una mujer fue mordida y desarrollo una conducta agresiva y la misma la llevo a morder a tres personas más. Siendo este el inicio del episodio de nuevo nos generan miedo y terror mostrándonos el inicio y el desarrollo de un virus de tal magnitud, me sorprendió muchísimo como de nuevo lograron atrapar y aterrorizar a los espectadores con estos dos primeros inicios tanto en el primer episodio como en el segundo haciendo que simples frases como "La humanidad perdería" y "Bombardeen esta ciudad y a todos en ella" generen miedo y ansiedad.

At the beginning of the episode we are again given an introduction to the virus but this time from the beginning of the contagion, in Indonesia where a woman was bitten and developed an aggressive behavior that led her to bite three more people. Being this the beginning of the episode again they generate fear and terror by showing us the beginning and development of a virus of such magnitude, I was very surprised how they managed to trap and terrify the viewers again with these first two beginnings both in the first episode and in the second one, making simple phrases like "Humanity would lose" and "Bomb this city and everyone in it" generate fear and anxiety.

El segundo episodio se estrenó el domingo 22 a las 10 pm (Venezuela) tanto en los canales HBO cómo en su plataforma HBOMAX. En este nos mostraron un poco más de como lidiaron las autoridades y el personal médico con el inicio de éste virus el cual se estaba expandiendo rápidamente, además nos mostraron la continuación del viaje de Joel, Tess y Ellie quienes iban en un encuentro con gente de Marlene quienes se iban a ocupar de Ellie pero en un suceso inesperado estos se encuentran muertos y deben seguir un nuevo plan.

The second episode premiered on Sunday 22 at 10 pm (Venezuela) both on HBO channels and on its platform HBOMAX. In this episode we were shown a little more of how the authorities and medical staff dealt with the onset of this virus which was spreading rapidly, also showed us the continuation of the journey of Joel, Tess and Ellie who were on a meeting with Marlene's people who were going to take care of Ellie but in an unexpected event they are found dead and must follow a new plan.

Otro episodio el cual me encantó tanto o más como el primer episodio. Ésta vez de la mano de el creador del juego Neil Druckmann siendo el director encargado de este episodio se destaco y demostró su pasión y determinación por entregar una serie increíble y fiel al juego original, nos demostró que con un buen equipo de maquillaje y de escenografía se podía lograr incluso más realismo que a través del cgi. Con este episodio puedo decir que no puedo esperar a ver qué más nos tiene preparado Neil para los próximos episodios y si todo sale bien, su segunda temporada.

Another episode which I loved as much or more as the first episode. This time from the hand of the creator of the game Neil Druckmann being the director in charge of this episode stood out and showed his passion and determination to deliver an incredible series and faithful to the original game, he showed us that with a good team of makeup and scenery could be achieved even more realism than through the cgi. With this episode I can say that I can't wait to see what else Neil has in store for the next few episodes and if all goes well, his second season.

Ya hablamos de como al inicio nos mostraron el pánico y el terror de del personal médico y militar así que ahora hablaremos un poco sobre lo que sería la continuación del viaje de nuestros protagonistas. Aunque al principio sigue habiendo algo de hostilidad entre ellie y el par de Joel y Tess estos aceptan que deben llevar a Ellie y que quizás si exista una cura para este virus que a acabado con la tierra. Tess quien se ve un poco más esperanzada continúa el viaje convenciendo a Joel de que deben hacerlo para redimirse por todas sus acciones del pasado. Me pareció genial el desarrollo tranquilo y más calmado de la relación entre Tess y Ellie, incluso podría decir que Ellie consiguió sentirse protegida no solo por ella sino también por Joel sabiendo de lo que ambos eran capaces de hacer.

We already talked about how at the beginning we were shown the panic and terror of the medical and military personnel so now we will talk a little about what would be the continuation of the journey of our protagonists. Although at the beginning there is still some hostility between Ellie and the pair of Joel and Tess, they accept that they must take Ellie and that perhaps there is a cure for this virus that has ended the earth. Tess who looks a little more hopeful continues the journey convincing Joel that they must do it to redeem themselves for all their past actions. I thought it was great the quiet and calmer development of the relationship between Tess and Ellie, I could even say that Ellie managed to feel protected not only by her but also by Joel knowing what they were both capable of doing.

Ya a punto de llegar a su lugar de destino se encuentran con los primeros mostrados en pantalla los corredores o infectados, aquí les aplaudo nuevamente al equipo de maquillaje ya que se destacaron significativamente con los diseños de los corredores los cuales no solo eran increíblemente parecidos y escalofriantes como los del juego sino que también en cuanto al sonido que estos producen eran exactamente iguales. Continuando con esto nos muestran que también es difícil acabar con los corredores, aquí comparándolo con the walking dead, debes apuntarles a la cabeza para que estos mueran pero de igual forma al ser tan rápidos debes irles disparando para evitar que se acerquen a ti, fue una escena bastante cardíaca y se sintió la tensión y el desespero de los personajes para evitar ser atrapados. Otra cosa que me pareció genial fue el hecho de añadir que los corredores estaban conectados bajo tierra ya que ahí se desplegaban, esto siendo increíblemente importante ya que debían ver dónde pisaban porque si pisaban mal podrían atraer a un gran número de corredores en pocos segundos.

Already on the verge of arriving at their destination, they meet the first ones shown on screen, the runners or infected, here I applaud again the makeup team because they stood out significantly with the designs of the runners which were not only incredibly similar and creepy as the ones in the game but also in terms of the sound they produce, they were exactly the same. Continuing with this they show us that it is also difficult to kill the runners, here comparing it to the walking dead, you must aim at their heads so that they die but also because they are so fast you must shoot them to prevent them from approaching you, it was a very cardiac scene and you could feel the tension and desperation of the characters to avoid being trapped. Another thing that I thought was great was the addition that the runners were connected underground as they were deployed there, this being incredibly important as they had to watch where they were stepping because if they stepped wrong they could attract a large number of runners in a few seconds.

Otra cosa que destaco de este episodio antes de hablar sobre el final es los increíbles parecidos con los paisajes, de verdad que es increíble la forma en la que se esforzaron en que quedaran tal cual como salidos del juego, haciéndote sentir emociones como tranquilidad, calma, seguridad y esperanza. Sobretodo la escena donde cruzan la tabla y Ellie y Joel ven la vista desde un edificio, definitivamente una escena muy emotiva debido a que podemos ver en un segundo como Joel mira a su reloj recordando a Sarah y esto parece que le da fuerzas de continuar, aquí nos muestran como se están uniendo poco a poco a pesar de las diferencias Joel y Ellie.

Another thing that stands out from this episode before talking about the ending is the incredible resemblance with the landscapes, it's really amazing the way they made an effort to make them look like they came out of the game, making you feel emotions like tranquility, calm, security and hope. Especially the scene where they cross the board and Ellie and Joel see the view from a building, definitely a very emotional scene because we can see in a second as Joel looks at his watch remembering Sarah and this seems to give him strength to continue, here they show us how they are uniting gradually despite the differences Joel and Ellie.

Ahora sí, hablemos de ese final. Muchísimo más emotivo que en el juego y que definitivamente me hizo llorar fue la escena donde se enteran de que Tess fue mordida, ella en un intento desesperado sigue buscando maneras de que Joel y Ellie puedan continuar con su viaje e intentar buscar una cura pero podemos ver qué Joel está muy conmocionado por la situación, algo que me parece bastante lindo fue como dieron a entender que ambos tenían algo a pesar de no decirlo directamente, podemos ver cómo a pesar de todo lo que han pasado Tess le dice a Joel que ella no está pidiendo que sienta lo que ella siente pero que deben continuar demostrando que quizás Joel estaba aún cerrado a que ambos pudieran tener algo romántico debido a su pasado. Además la reacción de ellie cuando Joel decide irse sin Tess es completamente impresionante, se notaba que aún así le importaba Tess y no quería abandonarla, muchísimo más emotiva que en el videojuego ya que en este ambos huían y veían luego a Tess siendo asesinada por agentes de FEDRA.

Now, let's talk about the ending. Much more emotional than in the game and that definitely made me cry was the scene where they find out that Tess was bitten, she in a desperate attempt is still looking for ways for Joel and Ellie to continue their journey and try to find a cure but we can see that Joel is very shocked by the situation, something that I find quite cute was how they implied that they both had something despite not saying it directly, we can see how despite everything they have been through Tess tells Joel that she is not asking him to feel what she feels but they should continue to show that maybe Joel was still closed to the two of them being able to have something romantic because of their past. Also ellie's reaction when Joel decides to leave without Tess is completely awesome, you could tell he still cared about Tess and didn't want to abandon her, way more emotional than in the video game since in this one they both ran away and then saw Tess being killed by FEDRA agents.

Con una completamente incomoda y horrible escena de la muerte de Tess dónde nos enseñan algo que sería descrito cómo el beso de la muerte que quizás algunos pensaran que era innecesario pero esto tiene un por qué, el corredor sabía que Tess había sido mordida pero al besarla haría que el virus se expandiera con mayor rapidez, fue bastante triste ver cómo Tess tuvo que sentir aquello a parte de haber sido mordida pero ella para evitar que siguieran a Joel y Ellie incendió todo el lugar. Luego de esto nuestros protagonistas se encuentran en camino a su nuevo destino, encontrar a Bill y Frank quienes podrán ayudarlos a llegar al hospital donde podrán desarrollar la cura. De nuevo destaco la increíble actuación de Pedro Pascal y Bella Ramsey quienes con cada episodio demuestran más que están comprometidos a representar a nuestros protagonistas tal cual eran en el juego.

With a completely uncomfortable and horrible scene of the death of Tess where we are shown something that would be described as the kiss of death that perhaps some thought it was unnecessary but this has a reason, the runner knew that Tess had been bitten but kissing her would make the virus spread faster, it was quite sad to see how Tess had to feel that apart from being bitten but she to prevent them from following Joel and Ellie set fire to the whole place. After this our protagonists are on their way to their new destination, to find Bill and Frank who can help them get to the hospital where they can develop the cure. Once again I would like to highlight the incredible performance of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey who with each episode show more and more that they are committed to portraying our protagonists as they were in the game.
