Dynamic to learn how to build quantities [ESP – ENG]
Saludos a todos los miembros de la comunidad, ¿cómo están? En algunas ocasiones aunque se esté realizando la misma actividad desde la perspectiva académica, cuando los niños son incentivados a realizarla de una manera dinámica con más elementos que simplemente un cuaderno y un lápiz, se vuelve algo que les permita disfrutar del proceso de aprendizaje pensando que están jugando, aunque enfocándonos en mantener siempre la orientación del ejercicio para que no se vuelva un desastre. Esta ha sido una de las formas que se ha ideado acá en nuestro hogar para que los niños sean capaces de ordenar cantidades de manera eficiente, siendo esto de vital importancia para llevar a cabo a su vez operaciones como las adiciones y multiplicación por constituir un cimiento.
Greetings to all members of the community, how are you? Sometimes, even if the same activity is being done from an academic perspective, when children are encouraged to do it in a dynamic way with more elements than just a notebook and a pencil, it becomes something that allows them to enjoy the learning process thinking that they are playing, but always focusing on maintaining the orientation of the exercise so that it does not become a disaster. This has been one of the ways that has been devised here in our home for children to be able to order quantities efficiently, this being of vital importance to carry out operations such as addition and multiplication as a foundation.
Los niños tienen que aprender a identificar las cantidades con lo que vendrían siendo las unidades, decenas, centenas, unidad de mil, decena de mil, centena de mil, unidad de millones, decena de millones y centena de millones, como se ve reflejado en el cartel de valores que se creó. Esta es una forma en la que además ellos aprenden a llevar un control no solamente sobre las cantidades que se les colocan, sino a respetar el espacio de cada una, siempre que hay muchos niños que escriben cantidades con los números pegados el uno del otro sin dejar ningún espacio, después al momento de resolver las operaciones, cualquiera que estas sean, se confunden en cómo resolverlas debido a que no ubican con facilidad los números. De por sí cuando están aprendiendo, se les dificulta realizar la actividad, cuando hay desorden más aún.
The children have to learn to identify quantities with what would be units, tens, hundreds, units of thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, hundreds of thousands, units of millions, tens of millions and hundreds of millions, as reflected in the poster of values that was created. This is a way in which they also learn to keep control not only over the quantities that are placed, but also to respect the space of each one, as there are many children who write quantities with the numbers glued to each other without leaving any space, then when solving the operations, whatever they are, they get confused on how to solve them because they do not easily locate the numbers. In itself when they are learning, it is difficult for them to perform the activity, when there is disorder even more.
La idea es que ayudados de este cartel que serviría como base a la actividad, se le den a los niños unas determinadas cantidades para que sean ellos de la ayuda de unos números previamente elaborados y cortados, quienes lo coloquen con un pequeño pincho en donde corresponde cada uno. Debe tenerse en cuenta que al estar trabajando con infantes, un artículo puntiagudo es peligroso si no se maneja con mucho cuidado, por ello debemos prestar atención en todo momento, haciendo énfasis cuando el niño se encuentre manipulando la tachuela para asegurarnos de que no pase nada. Por las edades que se manejan para este contenido pues podrían dársele suficiente confianza sin dejar de supervisar, a ellos también les sienta bien sentirse responsables, es parte del inmenso proceso de crecimiento.
The idea is that with the help of this poster that would serve as the basis for the activity, the children will be given certain quantities so that they, with the help of some previously elaborated and cut numbers, will place them with a small skewer where each one corresponds. It must be taken into account that when working with infants, a sharp item is dangerous if not handled very carefully, so we must pay attention at all times, emphasizing when the child is handling the tack to ensure that nothing happens. For the ages that are handled for this content, they could be given enough confidence while supervising, it is also good for them to feel responsible, it is part of the immense process of growing up.
Una alternativa que proporcione mayor seguridad sería que a los niños solamente se les pida opinión sobre dónde colocar los números, no dejando la tachuela para ser manipulada por ellos, aunque esto haría que se sienta menos divertido, al menos podrían ofrecerles una variación a la manera convencional. En nuestro caso se les ha permitido a los niños tener en su poder la tachuela, cuando ya han pensado sobre la posición donde van a colocar el número y esta es correcta, así no la tienen mucho más tiempo del necesario, porque generalmente los niños pueden ser muy erráticos, tenemos varios que mientras están en su proceso de pensar se mueven para todos lados hablando sobre su respuesta… por ello es mejor prevenir. Además, debe destacarse que para esto se necesita que el niño sepa seguir un mínimo de instrucciones.
An alternative that would provide greater security would be for the children to only be asked for their opinion on where to place the numbers, not leaving the tack to be manipulated by them, although this would make it feel less fun, at least they could be offered a variation to the conventional way. In our case the children have been allowed to have the tack in their possession, when they have already thought about the position where they are going to place the number and this is correct, so they do not have it much longer than necessary, because generally children can be very erratic, we have several that while they are in their thinking process they move all over the place talking about their answer... that is why it is better to prevent. Also, it should be noted that this requires the child to know how to follow a minimum of instructions.
Puede hacerse con hojas blancas unidas como lo hicimos por ahorrar materiales, pero queda a decisión de cada quien en cómo les gustaría que fuese, están las láminas de papel bond, así como pizarras de corcho. Lo importante es que sean entendidas las cantidades en sus respectivos recuadros, por eso recomiendo colorearlos, hacerlo más llamativo genera una mayor curiosidad en los niños, incentivarlos a querer saber sobre el aprendizaje y que lo asocien con algo que sí quieren hacer es esencial, no me voy a cansar de decirlo, creo que muchos de los padres que se encuentran acá dentro de esta comunidad saben desde hace un tiempo al estar involucrados en el aprendizaje de sus hijos que enseñar no es sencillo, así que cualquier herramienta que pueda ayudar en esta labor debería ser compartida para el provecha de todos.
