Saludos estimada comunidad de padres , madres y representante de #Hive tanto de habla hispana como de otras lenguas del mundo. Hoy vuelvo por acá en mi rol de padre para compartir con todos ustedes una bonita experiencia familiar que vivimos la semana pasada en compañía de mi esposa e hijas cuando todos juntos en compañía de amigos y familiares asistimos a un acto religioso que está enmarcado dentro de las costumbres y cultura de miles de hogares de Venezuela y que está íntimamente relacionado y vinculado a la fe católica que profesa en su mayoría las familias de este país.
Se trata del acto conocido como "Primera Comunión" a la cual mis hijas de 10 y 9 años respectivamente junto a sus primas asistieron este pasado día viernes 26 de agosto a la Iglesia Matriz "San Luis Rey " de la ciudad de Villa de Cura, lugar donde se ofició el acto religioso que involucró a cientos de personas entre padres, madres, hermanos, primos, abuelos y demás familiares que acompañaron a sus pequeños a realizar este acto que de alguna manera los inicia en los misterios de la llamada fe católica.

Greetings dear community of fathers, mothers and representatives of #Hive both Spanish and other languages of the world. Today I return here in my role as a father to share with all of you a beautiful family experience that we lived last week in the company of my wife and daughters when all together in the company of friends and family we attended a religious event that is framed within the customs and culture of thousands of homes in Venezuela and that is closely related and linked to the Catholic faith that most families in this country profess.
It is the act known as "First Communion" to which my daughters of 10 and 9 years old respectively along with their cousins attended this past Friday August 26 at the Mother Church "San Luis Rey" in the city of Villa de Cura, where the religious act was officiated that involved hundreds of people including fathers, mothers, brothers, cousins, grandparents and other relatives who accompanied their little ones to perform this act that somehow initiates them in the mysteries of the Catholic faith.

Viernes 26 de agosto!
Desde tempranas horas nos levantamos ese gran día para preparar a las muñecas de la casa a esta particular cita con la historia, los valores y las costumbres de una sociedad que nos recuerda siempre nuestras raíces ancestrales y a su vez el compromiso social y religioso con nuestro pasado colonial. Ya las niñas venían de realizar por aproximadamente 9 semanas un curso introductorio para la primera comunión dictado por docentes conocedores del programa eclesiástico para educar a niños en esta etapa de iniciación mejor conocido como "catequesis" y a los instructores se les conoce como "catequistas"
Los vestidos blancos que lucen las niñas corresponden igualmente a la tradición religiosa, blanco que simboliza pureza y espiritualidad y en esta oportunidad conseguimos que nos los prestaran familiares cuyos hijas en este caso ya habían realizado su Primera Comunión... luego nosotros adquirimos los demás accesorios que incluyen velas, rosarios, textos en forma de libritos, sandalias, cintillos y demás que de alguna manera complementan la indumentaria de las niñas en el acto religioso.

From early hours we got up that great day to prepare the dolls of the house to this particular appointment with the history, values and customs of a society that always reminds us of our ancestral roots and at the same time the social and religious commitment with our colonial past. The girls had already been attending for approximately 9 weeks an introductory course for the first communion dictated by teachers who know the ecclesiastical program to educate children in this stage of initiation better known as "catechesis" and the instructors are known as "catechists".
The white dresses worn by the girls also correspond to the religious tradition, white symbolizing purity and spirituality and in this opportunity we got them on loan from relatives whose daughters in this case had already made their First Communion... then we acquired the other accessories including candles, rosaries, texts in the form of booklets, sandals, ribbons and others that somehow complement the clothing of the girls in the religious act.
Salida hacia la Iglesia!
Ya listas las chicas, la madre, mi persona y ellas salimos de nuestra casa hacia la parada de carros por puesto de nuestra comunidad y abordamos un carrito que nos llevó directamente a la iglesia donde a partir de las 9:00 de la mañana iba a iniciar la ceremonia. Las niñas se reunieron con sus docentes de la catequesis mientras los padres y representantes esperábamos dentro del recinto religioso apareciera el sacerdote para que entonces comenzara el acto que culminó aproximadamente luego de las 12:00 del medio día mientras fuera una torrencial lluvia caía en toda la ciudad como una lluvia de bendiciones que se derramaba sobre aquellos niños que estaban allí escuchando al sacerdote sobre valores familiares y otros temas de interés.

Once the girls, the mother, myself and them were ready, we left our house towards the car stop by the stall of our community and boarded a cart that took us directly to the church where the ceremony was to begin at 9:00 in the morning. The girls met with their catechesis teachers while the parents and representatives waited inside the religious precinct for the priest to appear so that the ceremony could begin, which culminated approximately after 12:00 noon while a torrential rain fell all over the city as a shower of blessings poured down on those children who were there listening to the priest about family values and other topics of interest.
Compartir con amigos y familiares luego de la ceremonia!
Luego de la ceremonia religiosa los niños en compañía de sus docentes y familiares acudieron a la capilla que se encuentra dentro del Asilo Hospital Santo Domingo a pocas cuadras de la Iglesia Matriz para festejar con un almuerzo acompañado de dulces tradicionales, bebidas y una gran torta el logro del trabajo logrado durante todo el tiempo que duró el curso de preparación.
Padres, madres y representantes se sintieron complacidos y agradecidos con las maestras que con mucha dedicación y paciencia formaron a estos niños hacia su iniciación en los misterios de la fe católica como una tradición más de nuestra cultura. En lo personal pienso que fue una muy bonita experiencia para todos los presentes y quedó este bonito recuerdo para ellas y para la posteridad. Gracias por leer al profe Gabo.
Sharing with friends and family after the ceremony!
After the religious ceremony, the children, accompanied by their teachers and family members, went to the chapel located inside the Asilo Hospital Santo Domingo, a few blocks from the Mother Church, to celebrate with a lunch accompanied by traditional sweets, drinks and a big cake the achievement of the work accomplished during the entire time of the preparation course.
Fathers, mothers and representatives were pleased and grateful to the teachers who with much dedication and patience formed these children towards their initiation in the mysteries of the Catholic faith as one more tradition of our culture. Personally I think it was a very nice experience for all present and this beautiful memory remained for them and for posterity. Thank you for reading Professor Gabo.
