Gabo Drawing #2
Greetings. For about 4 days I was making this digital drawing whose final result left me quite satisfied. I recently published my first drawing of this new section I have ne my blog, it was an eye only, so I wanted to do something more complete.

That said, I got to work and started drawing. The result I present to you today, a digital drawing of Zero, the famous character from the Megaman X saga. You can see the step by step in the following video:
Saludos. Durante aproximadamente 4 días estuve haciendo este dibujo digital cuyo resultado final me dejó bastante satisfecho. Hace poco publiqué mi primer dibujo de esta nueva sección que tengo ne mi blog, era un ojo solamente, así que quería hacer algo más completo.

Dicho lo anterior, puse manos a la obra y comencé a dibujar. El resultado se los presento hoy, un dibujo digital de Zero, el famoso personaje de la saga Megaman X. Pueden ver el paso a paso en el siguiente video:
Step by step
As in every drawing, the first thing I did was a very basic sketch to define well the proportions of the arms, legs and head. I did it with very thin lines to be able to make the final strokes on it.

Como en todo dibujo, lo primero que hice fue un boceto muy básico para definir bien las proporciones de los brazos, las piernas y la cabeza. Lo hice con líneas muy delgadas para poder hacer los trazos finales sobre este.

It should be noted that, although in the animation above everything looks very fast, the truth is that I made and erased strokes over and over again until I achieved the desired result.
It was a process that took hours, but once I had the strokes ready I started to color the drawing. Before, I defined the color palette I would use for this drawing, then I applied the first layer of color, which in this case was an intense red; then I applied two gray scales in the biceps, thighs and abdomen of the character.
Cabe destacar que, aunque en la animación de arriba todo se ve muy rápido, la verdad es que hice y borré trazos una y otra vez hasta que logré el resultado deseado.
Fue un proceso que llevó horas, pero al tener listo los trazos comencé a colorear el dibujo. Antes, definí la paleta de colores que usaría para este dibujo, luego apliqué la primera capa de color, que en este caso fue un rojo intenso; luego apliqué dos escalas de grises en los biceps, muslos y abdomen del personaje.

I continued to add layers of color. A very light gray, almost white, for the knee, shoulder and waist protectors; intense yellow for details on the ankles, waist, chest and sword handle; finally, blue for the light saber and the gem on the forehead.
Continué agregando capas de color. Un gris muy claro, casi blanco, para los protectores de la rodilla, los hombros y la cintura; amarillo intenso para detalles en los tobillos, la cintura, el pecho y el mango de la espada; por último, azúl para el sabe de luz y la gema de la frente.

To finish the base coloring, I added pink to the face, green in two gems on the chest and yellow for the abundant hair that the character has.

Para finalizar el coloreado base, agregué color rosa a la cara, verde en dos gemas que tiene en el pecho y amarillo para la abundante cabellera que tiene el personaje.

I must say that I could leave the drawing until here, but I wanted to improve it so I started adding shadows. This process was the one that took me the most time, in fact I spent a couple of days just adding the shadows that you can see in the following animation:
Debo decir que podría dejar el dibujo hasta aquí, pero yo deseaba mejorarlo así que comencé a agregar sombras. Este proceso fue el que más tiempo me quitó, de hecho ocupé un par de días solo agregando las sombras que se aprecian en la siguiente animación:
Then I added other shadows to darken some areas a little more and to give shade and different tonalities to the hair, as shown in the following animation:
Luego agregué otras sombras para oscurecer un poco más algunas áreas y para dar sombra y distintas tonalidades al cabello, tal como se aprecia en la siguiente animación:
One of the last steps was to add shine to the lightsaber. Although I had already added some shadows, these didn't quite convince me so I added more light to make it look like a real lightsaber. I also added lines along the body to simulate light reflections.
Uno de los últimos pasos fue agregar brillo al sable láser. Si bien ya había agregado algunas sombras, estas no me convencieron del todo así que le agregué más luz para que pareciese un sable láser de verdad. También le agregué líeas a lo largo del cuerpo para simualar reflejos de luz.
At first I liked the effect of these white light reflections all along the body; however, I saw them too intense so I made them a little more opaque to make them blend better with the rest of the drawing.
En un principio me gustó el efecto de estos reflejos de luz blanca a lo largo de todo el cuerpo; sin embargo, los vi demasiado intensos así que los hice un poco más opacos para que hicieran una mejor fusión con el resto del dibujo.
Finally, I added a small detail that carries the drawing on the left shoulder, a sort of Z that is the insignia of the character.
Finalmente, agregué un pequeño detalle que lleva el dibujo en el hombro izquierdo, una suerte de Z que es la insignia del personaje.
And so the drawing was finished. In total it took me four days to finish it. Obviously it was not four full days, but during 4 days on different days I was working on the drawing. I think it was worth it, you can see the result for yourselves:
Y de esta manera el dibujo quedó terminado. En total tardé cuatro días en terminarlo. Obviamente no fueron cuatro días completos, sino que durante 4 jornadas en días distintos estuve trabajando en el dibujo. Pienso que valió la pena, el resultado pueden apreciarlo ustedes mismos:
