My daughter convinced herself at a young age that she was a fairy, and I played along with her ideas for a long time. At some point, her belief seemed to get her confused, as she was not able to accomplish everything that she tried to "conjure."
After a number of years, I had to break it to her, "Baby, you're not a fairy."
"But daddy, you told me that I am a fairy!" she replied, tearfully.
Thus I taught her an important life lesson: "Life's unfairy."
