La profecía (Relato) / The Prophecy (Short Story) (Esp - Eng)

The Prophecy (Short Story)
– The day will come, dear son – said grandmother, – when you will climb a hill through a pine forest. You will see a big house with large windows and a smoking chimney in the rain.
The young man, without understanding, nodded and, crying, accompanied her in her last moments.
The years passed and the boy grew older, noticing that during the day his body became drowsy, a heaviness dominated him and caused him problems in his work. So he dedicated himself to work at night. Vitality, energy and vigor were his attributes.
One day his grandmother's words began to disturb him. He could not stop thinking about them. As if that were not enough, during the nights they seemed to echo in his head. He would hear them, relive them, and that disturbed him.
A few weeks later, on the night of his eighteenth birthday, he left work in the rain and drove to the house of some friends who were waiting for him to celebrate. But halfway there, a jolt paralyzed his body, absorbed, he got out of the car, walked and went down to a hillside of pine trees. There was the big house with large windows and a smoking fireplace. It was the place that his grandmother had prophesied.
Without any fear, he approached the door and it opened. He looked around and at the top of the house, in the highest part, was the painting of his grandmother, lit by two large candelabras and adorned with exotic flowers. He felt that everything was altered inside him, without understanding and trying to take a step, he flew towards the painting, while two fangs adorned his macabre smile.

Saludos, @franvenezuela.
