La reciente renovación de Kylian Mbappé por el PSG y el ya confirmado fichaje de Erling Halland por el Manchester City son una fuerte señal del cambio de statu quo en el fútbol europeo, o al menos del cambio de statu quo de los dos grandes equipos españoles, el Madrid-Barsa. En otros tiempos, estos equipos se habrían hecho con los servicios de estas estrellas y habrían reeditado la rivalidad deportiva con la que han reinado en Europa en los últimos años. Sin embargo, en un cambio ya anunciado en el ecosistema de los fichajes en el viejo continente, y gracias a la entrada de dinero procedente de la inversión extranjera, especialmente del Golfo Pérsico, clubes como el PSG y el Manchester City pretenden destronar a los históricos de su reinado deportivo en Europa.
