Dvata Vrisa/The Two Springs

avatar

Hello, everyone !

Last summer my friends (@vesytz) and I were hiking on Eco trail Dvata Vrisa is located about 5 km away near the paradise village of Brashlyan in Strandzha.

The road is easy, you don't need to have special shoes, you walk on a dirt road, which is marked with yellow markings and signs.

which passes through a meadow where various herbs grew and nice views of the surrounding hills are revealed,

then there is a small descent (40-70 meters) we enter a wooded area in many different wooden.

After about 20-30 minutes, we reach the Two Vris,
where a shelter has been built with tables,

benches and a fireplace,

where you can have a picnic and a fountain (from which the name comes, Vris is a spring, in the Strandzhan dialect, where water is poured).

there is a wooden swing made for little lovers of trekking.

and a little further up from the shelter, as we go along a path,

we can see a platform-gazebo on the branches of an ancient oak.

After a short rest, we left for the village,

the weather was quite hot, luckily most of the way was in the woods

there we met our friends with bicycles (@nanast, @deska89) who set off much earlier than our group.

when we reached the village we had fun.

I didn't know that there are signposted hikes and trails in Bulgaria?! Well, Strandzha is quite far from Burgas or Pomorie though... Isn't it close to the Turkish border?

There are many know and unknown marked hikes in Bulgaria that you can follow and enjoy. 🙂
About 60km/80km from Burgas/Pomorie, but mostly you go there by car or by bike (very rarely). 🤪
Yes, it is close to border, there are often border police officers on patrol.

Good to know, if I'd go there again for a longer period, I'd take a look into it. But like bike hire there's not, right? One should have his own bike?... !CTP

I'm happy to provide useful information. There are no bicycles for rent in Strandja, you must bring your own bicycle (it's better with the car).

It looks like in general Bulgarians don't like cycling and running. When I was running in the marine garden in Burgas last summer, I swa only few people doing the same, and more people looking at me strange. No bikes, nor roller skates... If I'd go to a similar place in Spain, it would be crowded of runners, cyclists (in the marine garden there's even a cycle path drawn on the floor for the 3-4km) and people with roller skates... !CTP
